Rear Tailgate Lift Not Fully Opening

i wonder if this is ford's fix to the mystery trunk opening issue.

my new 2023 premium is consistent in the following:

• locked, no key present: trunk locked, no trunk opening on rear button press
• locked, key present: trunk opens ~3" on rear button press
• unlocked, key present: trunk opens fully on rear button press (driver's door open or closed)
• locked, key present: trunk opens fully on 2x remote trunk button press

The above is the exact behavior my 23 has, and I'll add these:

• Locked or unlocked, PaaK connected: trunk opens fully using the button in FordPass.
• In Valet mode, any key fob/PaaK state: trunk will not open at all until Valet mode is turned off, which I just found out on a trip over the weekend. I believe this is expected/correct behavior that I was just not aware of.

I'm glad you all posted this and forces me to check. The above comments are accurate and boiled down it seems like:

If the car is locked the trunk only opens a few inches when you push the button. With key or Paak. Second pick opens it fully.

If the car is unlocked it extends fully.

It's my understanding that an update is rolling out to fix the liftgate. I haven't received it yet but a few have that it fixed it.

I've had that issue since I got the car. Haven't correlated it yet with locked/unlocked or door ajar. I have had 6.13 for about a week. No difference.

It’s a priority update that fixes it, not 6.13.

It may be imagined, but I noticed a quick press opens fully. A longer press seems to open fully. Still wonky if true as most will push longer to open. YMMV.

I assume you have a 23 model. If so, if the car is locked the liftgate will stop after raising about 4 inches. If it is unlocked it will work properly. This only affects 23 models.

ours also does this, if locked it only opens a couple inches.
I read in Gethub the following powerup is coming.
hopefully this is a fix.
I am still getting November updates. Just got 6.3.0 I think

My FDRS report on my 23, I have the same liftgate issue. It's listed as "rear trunk gate (RGTM) module update" but according to this it involves a dealer visit?

I am glad to report that my MME updated to 23-PU0630-RGT-PLO yesterday and the liftgate appears to be fixed and working properly now.
Thank you Mr. FORD for an unexpected Christmas present.

Can't wait as my 21 had no issues my 23 P Ex. does.. you hit the button get ready to load or unload and it stalls.. throws you off.. 23-PU0630-RGT-PLO Noted and will see if my dealer knows anything about this Super Thanks!
