CSP 22P31 - Replace the Electronic Parking Brake Harness Connector

My car was dropped off this morning for the HVAC update (appointment set up last week) and the automated reminder I received yesterday mentioned this additional scope of work, so I searched the forum and came upon this thread. Knew nothing about it.

When I drop it off this morning the service advisor says, "oh, we may have to order that and you'll need to come back to get that done."

Then why was it added to the work order? You're the ones who did that and should have ordered it in advance! I could have done this later in the week if I had been told of the situation. It is not convenient to have to keep making appointments. The HVAC work is actually a reschedule for an appointment where they couldn't do it because FDRS was down for them that day.

So sick of this unnecessary sh*t.

Just for reference, in Europe the recall is labeled FSA22B47.

Just had mine done but don’t think they do it unless/until the park brake faults.

It’s not a Safety Recall so Ford and their dealer won’t contact owners and just get on with it, though it should be a Safety Recall, after all which part of defective brakes speaks of safe & roadworthy??‍

Not sure about the UK, but in the US, dealers are supposed to proactively replace the connectors if the car comes in for something else. There doesn't need to be a fault.

Mine is on day 3 at the dealer for unrelated work and now it's waiting the part(s) for this.

I got a recall. Both in app and in a letter.

Recall systems around the world differ.

You just have laughed, er I mean seen, the performance of UK’s “government”, a term which I will use VERY loosely.

Our Recall system is “voluntary” which means if a maker can be arsed to do anything about anything they tell our DVSA what they’re going to do and DVSA say “OK”.

Rarely if ever is it the case like in the US that VDO discover defect and NHTSA instruct car maker to fix it, fix it now!

Nice! The dealer who serviced my HVBJB said they were going to do this when they were fixing the HVBJB, but all they did was the HVBJB. I am not bringing it back in just to do this. ?‍?

How to check is my car needs this recall, on the Ford site, when I put my VIN does does show this CSP/recall. I took the car to the dealer for a different CSP, and there they said this recall also applies

I had a similar experience. I got a phishing phone call from my original dealer’s service department mentioning this brake recall, and oh by the way, the HVBJB recall as well. I’d already gotten the letter about the junction box but nothing about the brakes. When I explained to her that the parts weren’t yet available for the battery fix (!?) she agreed that maybe I should wait and get both issues fixed when the junction box is available. When I check on Ford’s service site with my VIN, there is nothing about the parking brake, only the junction box.

Yep, same , in my case it was the charge cable recall

Just went in to schedule the HVBJB recall service and the service manager brought up this one. They had the part in stock but scheduling might be a while out and after they get the parts for 23S56.
