As the title says, my ‘22 GT stopped charging through the J1772 port on an L2 or L2 charger, but will charge through the DC ports when connected to a CCS charger. Has anyone seen/solved this issue before?

Not being able to charge at home will be quite the headache.

Are you only having the problem at home or other saved location?

Have you tried multiple L2 charging stations to make sure the car is the problem? If it won't charge on any L2 charger at any location, you likely have a hardware problem that will require a dealer visit.
That’s a good point. I only tried it with the Ford Mobile charger (L1) and one L2 public charger. I can run to another one to test it today.

At home on the Ford Mobile Charger is where it started. I don’t have any saved L2 locations since I normal go to a fast charger if I need to charge more quickly. Does the “saved location” matter?

It matters in that a saved location could have a charge schedule set that could prevent charging from starting.

It happened to my MME after an update. The old charger only charged for couple minutes and stopped. The charger blamed my MME. I switched to a brand new L2 charger with bright and shine metal connectors and my MME took the charge. I think it was a communication issue with the old charger. Have you tried a new charger?

I had the same issue earlier this year. The charger port temperature sensors were bad, requiring a warantee replayment of the whole on board charger. The service department, as always, defaults to "it's a you problem," until I showed them the data from Car Scanner. Then they sent a field engineer out.

That’s good to know. Can you give more details on the Car Scanner? New to the Mach E and annoyed that this issue has shown up a couple thousand miles into owning what was a certified used car.

Sure, If you download the CarScanner App and buy a compatible USB connector for the diagnostic port you'll have access to all the sensors in your Mach-E. Four of those sensors are for the temperatures of the L1, L2, DC1, and DC2 ports. If one of the sensors are bad you'll see it as significantly higher than the rest, while charging. If it gets too high charging will suddenly stop and there will be no indication otherwise from the car that there's a problem.

If you check my earlier posts there's a more detailed post about it.

Update: Issue went away for a few days, but unfortunately returned today. Not a good start to Mach E ownership…

Update: They reprogrammed the my charging module for the latest recall. Issue went away while it was warm and dry. Rain and cold returned as did the inability to charge via the J-1772 port…

The battery will not charge if it gets below freezing until it ia allowed to warm up. Not sure it was getting that cold or not. I kept mine plugged in if the temp was going to be below freezing. I have no scheduled time so it would heat the battery while it was plugged in.

Thanks. This is in Northern California so we are talking lows of 45. Biggest issue is it won’t recognize a level 2 charger.
