@Gimme_my_MME Is there something specific i should tell my dealer when i take the car for the charging fix on Tuesday?
Most likely nothing YOU say will make a difference, most dealers don't appreciate getting advice from the customer that they read online. Even if we are right and could save them considerable time and effort

because it uses the energy in the battery to overheat the battery. The heater uses around 5.5kw and an EVSE L1 only supplied 1kw. so the battery discharges even faster than on an L2.
Exactly! This is my current situation, having to plug in for a 10 kWh L1 charge each day to get back to 85% SoC after a 4-mile commute in cold weather. It's ridiculous.

Yeah - I agree. That has been my experience with the dealerships for the different issues that i have taken my Mach-E in for.

Yeh this glitch almost got me stranded in the woods for Christmas! Brought along my L1 portable charger and plugged her into my cabin to slow charge during the stay. Except that the power the cooling system used was more than the L1, and drained 10% of my MME battery before I noticed and quickly unplugged! Rolled into the nearest EVgo station with 13%. Hey @Ford Motor Company what gives??? You trying to sabotage your product or just confused about this huge glitch?!

Thank you for the update, Sid. First, I hope that your car charges properly once it leaves the dealership. Hopefully your dealer will use a correct procedure and you will be done. Maybe after one day, to boot!

A scenario we don't want is ....... A dealer tech plugs an affected car into their L2 charger and sees the car consuming power (which it should). The tech then concludes that since power flows into the car, it's charging properly (which it isn't). Then a final conclusion is - "The car's good, the problem is your home charging station" (which it isn't either).

I hope that this does not happen to anyone with the battery heating problem. This situation will only waste owner and dealer time.

Our car is going to the dealer today for the HVBJB recall. Maybe the charging issue can be addressed as well?

I called the dealer for an update and service rep told me the tech wanted to see my Lvl1 ford charger - maybe they wanted to replicate the issue? Or thinks it's the charger.. not sure. Not expecting to get my car back today - need to figure out a way to get to work tomorrow ?

i see that they are charging it using a 9W Lvl 2 charger and it's almost fully charged.. so hoping they don't see that as a - car is fine thing

got the car back from the dealer. They completed CSP 23B50 and reprogrammed charge control module as part of it.

For the charging issue - they said they couldnt replicate it (they used a 9kW charger) and it worked and they did not have a lvl1 charger where the issue could be replicated. So they are hoping the recall updates fixes the issue.

I am doubtful but will see how it responds on charging tonight
