Ford will get $600 over my dead body at this point. Pay $600 to reenable lane keeping assist and lane centering that they took away from my car yesterday? No way. I can’t really blame people who aren’t willing to cough up the $600 for 3 years snd $800 for one year? That is ludicrous.
At least you’re getting updates ???
(Sorry! I couldn’t resist as my last update was in November.)

It’s been reported. So far the answer is along the lines of nothing is wrong.
Then take it to the dealer for service under warranty as the features aren’t working.

I’d reach out to Ford - something seems wrong.
I agree that something seems wrong, but I don't think a call to Ford will fix the issue.

My maps are updated and have not been paying $80 a year?
Connected services shows that my navigation trial ends April 2024 (I'm a 2021 J1). That makes it seem as if there will be another fee in addition to BlueCruise. Or is it that the fee for navigation goes away if you renew BlueCruise?

Some lucky folks have gotten the bill for Connected Services already. It was in addition to their BC subscription.

Phone calls were not involved.
If you provide me with your VIN, Jesse volunteered to look at your as-built to see if he sees anything wrong. Those features should still be operational even without BC. I know you are very involved in the forum and possibly have your own resources. If you hit a dead end and you're interested, lmk. PM is fine.

That is “Connected Built-in Navigation”. I can’t say definitively, but I’ll bet a donut that has nothing to do with the precise mapping information required by BlueCruise. Remember, cars without BlueCruise still have navigation.

There is one dealer here. In the nearly three years of owning this car they have:

Refused to do either of the two recalls on it (glass recalls). I can’t wait see how they weasel out of the HVBJB replacement recall.

Refused to do any of the CSPs for the car (including the stunningly simple second key fob)

Refused to do any TSB that the car is eligible for.

Never had their EV technician look at the car.

What they have done: rotate the tires.

So just what sort of warranty work can I realistically expect?

Thank you. I’ll keep it in mind.

To be honest, my complaint isn’t with Fotd for the most part. It’s with the dealer here. And Ford isn’t alone in that regard. Every dealership outside of Toyota here has the same issues. Toyota dealerships statewide are all owned by the company that holds the distribution rights in Hawaii (Toyota USA has nothing to do with Hawaii). That unique relationship creates a very different set of issues though, few of them good.

I should edit that answer so refuse reads “effectively refuse”. What they’ve done on all of these is to say they’re too busy and we have you on our list. For two years. I’ve followed up on the recalls every month for 2 years. The scary part @Jimrpa is that they are not even close to the worst dealership here. Not even close. They also are one of the few dealers that is genuinely family owned.

ugh - I only have on dealer horror story (dealer killed an Escort I owned a long time ago). I can't go into details on a public forum, but the dealership no longer exists (not due to any of my actions). Dealing with them was horrible.

The worst out here was the now long gone former Chevy dealership. They had their franchise revoked by GM — for cause. GM eventually replaced them with a much better operation on the Hilo side.

I know we're drifting off topic now, but this is why I opted to buy a Mongoose and liberate myself from dealer dependencies. I worked for two different local Ford dealers and even going to the dealers I worked at where I had relationships with people employed there I was given the run-around and no help with the update issues my job 1 truck had. It was by far and away the best decision I made in regards to having a quality ownership experience.
