Here is a video. It’s much louder in person, but at the end the boom boom is the sound I get daily. It’s not the suspension for me because it doesn’t happen if I go over the bump straight.

Hi there. This clunking/booming noise concern doesn’t sound like something we want you to experience with your Mach-E. I am happy to help if you are still looking for assistance. Can you please send us a PM with your VIN & dealer name/location? I’ll see how I can assist on my end. To send a private message, just click on our username and select "Start Conversation".

I know what are you taking about. So loud in person !! I'm experiencing same sound with my new 2023 Mach E GT (4 months old). When starting up slow into a sharp right or left turn there's a loud noise in the front end easily felt in the steering wheel. Mostly occurs when steering wheel is full left or full right. Doesn't always happen. Noise appears small after 1 month but it started getting worse. I have taken the car to the service department twice and I still experience the noises. During the first visit from Dec.04 through Dec. 20 mechanics said that they couldn't duplicate the issue and let me know it usually happened due to cold weather season. SEROUSLY………!! It’s a terrible answer. After a few days a message appears on the screen "Driver selectable suspension fault service required". So, Sheehy dealer located in Gaithersburg, MD checked the car again on Dec. 26 through Jan. 03 and replaced a control module (Part#LK9Z-3C142-B). However, noise appears again!. Therefore, I drop off my Mach E for third time to the Sheehy dealer without a predictable time to get it back repaired. Driving a car with issues is frustrating and concerning, especially when it’s new. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Interesting, that is NOT what mine sounds like.

Mine sounds like brakes (like it’s trying to do traction or stability control) or tires rubbing/sliding.

Also, my 2021 GTPE is in the shop, my 2023 GTPE loaner makes absolutely no noise driving out of my driveway (where my 2021 always makes noise).

FWIW, I didn’t even mention the noise as my car drives fine and it’s only in tight turns or bumps so it doesn’t bother me.

Chasing down noises in a car when nothing is broken is kinda hard to do.

Like I said in an earlier post it's probably the tires. Saying this because our new BMW iX has the same tires that were on our GTP and it's making the same exact sound up front. Also, when I moved to the AS version on the GTP, the sound vanished.

For
I'm kind of a car guy. This feels like play in the universal joints attached to the front wheels. Or loosened springs attached to the front wheels. I guess I'll take to the dealer for an inspection.
Thanks for the help.
me they replaced this part under warranty. There seems to be a known issue with that. I will check the number for you when I get back home:

Only brought up tires again because quite a few on here had their half shafts replaced by Ford and the problem persisted, and ceased when the tires were switch to another type.

My 21 does it
Theolddog asks: Will Ford pay for changing to all-seasan tires??
By-the-way, Ford Social Media rep contacted me suggesting I take car into my dealer. Which I plan to do tomorrow. Thanks everyone. I'll let you know how it goes.

I have the Conti RX's. But it did it with the AS3's as well. Mine has this notch when turning full like like others above. It feels like a rack and pinion with a busted tooth in the rack, or like a tie rod hanging up on another suspension part and finally bouncing over it to full lock. I don't see my issue as the tires so much as possibly the amount of torque in the steering system at that point in it's radius. It's something I would mention but fully expect them to tell me it's the sway bars fault or that I'd need new front struts. It's done this clunk to full lock from day one in all weather, even the rain, so I know my tires arn't too grabby. But overall my steering has always been too heavy. Mine in whisper is like a GTPE in Unbridle. Mine in Unbridle is way too heavy unless on a track wanting a workout.

Let us know what you find out.

I wonder if you’re going to get the doctor response:

“Hey doc! It hurts when I do this thing.”

Doctor- “Don’t do this thing.”

It makes a clunk when I turn the steering wheel to the locks……. Don’t turn the steering wheel to the locks. ?

About the loud clunk in the front end when turning full left or full right: The dealer service rep said since I couldn't duplicate the issue, "no problem found at this time."!!
Unrelated issue:
They did reattach the rubber/fiberglass shield hanging down to the roadway under the right rear brake-axle assembly that I discovered was flapping on the way to the dealer.

Mine for sure does this. 2021 GTPE.

Easiest way to make it happen is literally every day when I exit my driveway.

The car is bouncing slightly (from the gutter between my driveway and the street) and I’m turned all the way left to go on the road.

Because it’s turned sharply, I’m accelerating slightly and the car is bouncing…… I figured it’s just stability control kicking in. Does our stability control use the brakes? My last car did and that’s what is sounds and feels like.

OP (or anyone else). Post a video. Hard to understand a sound without hearing it.
Mine does this exactly like this every day as well, but it’s a ‘23. Backing out of driveway and wheel is turned all the way to the right, when the left front wheel is coming off the curb it makes a loud noise and there’s a slipping sensation. I have started only doing 80% turns on the wheel to try to avoid it but I haven’t been too worried otherwise. That moment is the only time it does it.

Maybe I’ll see if it does it in different drive modes or with the stability control turned off. I’m almost always in Whisper at that point because my neighborhood has rough roads.

Continuing with the clunking front end vibration: it happens when the tires are cold. I pull out of my garage and turn sharp right and start acceleration. It feels like the tires are grabbing the pavement and only the force of the rear wheels pushes the "Summer" tires to start a bouncing, grabbing of the pavement. Forcing the hopping, grabbing tires into the turn makes the noise. Dealership could not duplicate the issue and the front end inspection "found nothing wrong."
Starting this Saturday, I'm driving from NJ to Florida on I-95. So my attention will be on fast-charging over the 13hr journey to Florence SC and the next day's 11hr journey from there to Sarasota. Ford pass app shows 9 charging stops for the 2 day trip.
Very excited! "Stay tuned!"

There are a few threads about this but I have solved it so would like to share feedback. I was experiencing very loud clunking noise when turning sharp on startup and especially in cold ambient temperatures, as if the wheels were being dragged while locked. The Ford dealer claimed they could not hear it... Also I sent a DM here to Ford and while they were very kind they took my VIN etc etc and then just said oh you should go to a dealer...

So... I changed the tires, which at 10k miles were ready to go anyway. Thanks to this forum I chose the Continental ExtremeContact DWS06+. It's a different car, and the clunking is gone! I live in Boston MA and even in snow and ice the car holds like never before and i was reminded why i fell in love with this car originally, whereas in the past few months it had been a slippery clunker.

Also I should be answering this on a different thread, my tire shop said that in their opinion the reason my stock Pirelli tires were dead by 10k miles is that there was poor alignment. I should have aligned them at 6 months, especially for a new car. It felt good to be told that it wasn't my "non efficient" driving that caused it...
