As an owner of a ‘21 glassed roof premium who is not full of shit, it is in fact NOT hotter than any metal roof vehicle I own. Maybe the glass is hotter than metal to the touch, but does not add to interior heat in my experience.
I agree, we have sat in direct sunlight 121° heat charging our FE with the A/C on of course and it was cool as can be inside the car. The glass roof can be hot but no hotter than the windows to the touch. Even when our FE sat outside in 115°+ heat without the A/C it never felt any hotter than any of our other cars that don't have a glass roof. The Mach-E has a robust A/C system and we found it cools the car very quickly when it's been sitting outside in the heat for a long time.

Hopefully that’s still getting fixed in an unrelated OTA update on existing cars (according to Darren Palmer).

The limit doesn’t affect 0-60 times.

This will likely be a paid hp/tq update.

It also has to be significant enough to justify the price.

50hp? I would pay $1000.

100 hp? $2000

And yes, our motors are capable of 580hp.

But if the new power comes with the same limiters……don’t waste our time!!

But the batteries aren't. Unless they're getting more aggressive with the battery situation or had a major change to batteries that hasn't been announced, I would guess the "most HP ever" will mean an incremental increase of less than 50hp and probably less than 30.

Who knows? But either way the power increase will have to justify the price.

30 hp won’t even be noticeable in 0-60 times.

Kinda like how the 34 lb ft of torque barely shows up.

Where do you get the idea that our battery can’t handle more horsepower?

I’m guessing we aren’t even close to the “limit.” Why? Because other than the HVBJB, I’m not aware of anyone breaking anything because of too much power. And even then it wasn’t even the power, it was just a bad design than even 290 hp could break.

We shall see when details get released.

On a related note…….what are they waiting for to release details? It’s already 2024. If they want people to plan on ordering 2024 GTs, they better hurry up and release the details.

Myself and many others have not experienced the heat issues due to glass that you describe with our Mach E’s. In fact, 99% of the time I forget I even have a glass roof!

I believe the Performance Edition might be dropped, and become an option on the "base GT". You might spin this as the "GT is the fastest ever". Metal roof might become standard on GT, and glass an option.

(probably another subscription scam)
When has any manufacturer sold a subscription for performance upgrades? If youre thinking of Tesla’s performance upgrade - that’s a one-time purchase.

I think that’s really the only thing that has come close, but once again, it’s a one-time purchase not a subscription.

And to be clear, the outrage about the BMW heated seats subscription was completely misplaced.

The “subscription” was in a small test market and 100% optional.

People could still pay the same 1X full price for heated seats.

I’m actually sad this idea was killed by the idiot public.

If you ever wanted to try features out (before you buy) or you don’t keep a car very long, the subscription model would save you money. Or maybe you couldn’t afford certain options when you bought the car and your finances changed. Or maybe you lived in Florida then moved somewhere cold.

If that didn’t apply to you, nothing was different, you could pay the same full option price.

But instead the idiots on the internet who couldn’t understand how having OPTIONS on how you buy and pay for something is a good thing……..had to throw a tantrum and kill the idea.

If Ford did a monthly option for a power upgrade (in addition to a 1x pay), I might “try before I buy,” for sure.

From what I read on https://hothardware.com/news/ford-mustang-mach-e-gt-bronze-appearance-package, Magneride is coming to the GT model, so it seems like effectively the performance edition is the new GT, then they'll offer some additional performance options. That's how I read it anyway.
It’s not just Magneride, the bigger front brakes and the cross-lace wheels are also part of the new GT. Essentially, the US-spec GT is now the same car as the GT in the rest of the world (which, up until now equated to the US-spec GT-PE) and they are likely dropping the GT-PE name. It will be interesting to see what else they have in mind for changes in 2024. ??

Do you think that moving forward the GTs will get the upgraded seats as well?

It's been a long-running gripe among GT owners that the 4x premiums are faster than the GTs after 70 mph.
I have owned both it's an overrated gripe.
