Helpful advice. Thanks. I've been driving my wife's ICE vehicle the last few weeks because the roads are sloppy and salty. As a result, it appears that any possible updates are suspended. I'll use the tips and see if anything arrives.

I am thinking that if you have a critical trip you want to take the MME on autoupdate shoukd be disabled. That way there in no chance an update will brick the car.

I never had any issues with receiving any updates by keeping the car connected to the home wifi. All updates have come without a problem. Ford controls the updates based on your vehicle vin. They do not release an update to all vin's at the same time. This leads to customers thinking that they need to have certain features of the vehicle turned off (IE: home wifi) to receive an update.

Last year mine got stuck and didn't preform updates. Took it to the dealer and they did over a dozen updates. Since then it seems to be updating regularly. Had a notice that it was going to do an update that night. Next day it hadn't updated. Made a trip to the store and when I got there it informed me that the update was underway. Competed fine.

You forgot to mention that placing crossed chicken bones on the hood of the vehicle and chanting the voodoo prayer before going to bed will spark up an OTA for sure.

While I appreciate your effort to suggest these items to facilitate regular OTAs, it seems to me that some of these are pure speculation as to their effectiveness. For example, I am certain that most of my updates have come over home WiFi in my two and a half years of ownership. Also, there seems to be many other variables that are completely outside of our control, in terms of Sync config, that have an affect on an OTA occurring. For example, some requiring a certain level of 12v battery SoC while in others it doesn't matter. There are a few other threads on this forum that go into much deeper details on those subject that seeem to have a significant connection to hard evidence and emphrical observation.

My experience is similar, not that I froth and fixate about updates which happen when they happen as far as I’m concerned.

I’m over 2 1/2 year in, Stangy’s got its own WiFi network node in its cozy stable and updates perfectly fine apparently over home WiFi/tinternet connection whilst munching on leccy at the hayrack?

That is very old and you are likely stuck. I would call the Ford update number and see what your OTA dashboard says.

I ended up getting a 2-day license and updating the APIM and TCU. Like clockwork, two days later I already received an update OTA. It was the DC Fast Charging Priority Update.

What did me updating the APIM and TCU successfully have to do with Ford just pushing that OTA? I don't understand their process at all.
