Is it just me, or have the beeping seatbelt alerts been reduced in Power Up 6.8.0?

Previously, the car would beep not just during startup if a seatbelt wasn’t fastened first, but also annoyingly after the car was put in park following a drive. Like if I was dropping a friend off by a store entrance, when they’d unbuckle to get out, the car would beep because I did not first turn the vehicle off before unbuckling and opening a door. It would happen for all passengers and the driver if I remember correctly, but recently, it doesn’t seem to be doing that?

Can someone confirm if this is the case or maybe I just haven’t been paying much attention lately?

Interestingly, most of us with older vehicles have noticed the chimes starting earlier after recent updates:

I'm guessing you have a 2022 or 2023?
Yes, 2023 here, not sure which job though.

Edit: maybe I should have been clearer, but the startup seatbelt warnings are totally still there, it’s just the after park seatbelt warnings that seem to have been decreased recently. Hope I’m correct!

Also, and I think I should mention this in its own post, but it looks like Ford has made the touchscreen frunk button operable after the vehicle has been powered off!!! I’m going to be testing this more, but if it is what it seems, I am thoroughly happy with this!

That’s interesting. I’ve not experienced any beeping from passengers unbuckling in my 22

FWIW, 2023 beeps are way louder than my 2021.

Had a loaner 2023 when I got my recall done. Immediately noticeable. Anything they do to make them less invasive is good.

YES! That VERy annoying series of 8 beeps has been replaced with four and at half the pace and less strident to the ear! That previous series of twangs was one of the most annoying things that I have to deal with with my MMEGT. I LOVE this car but i'm not sure how to spin that to adhere to the 'negative only post' mandate for this site! ???

I disabled the seat belt chimes. If they're annoying to you, why don't you disable them. Life's too short to be annoyed unnecessarily.

How do you disable them? FORScan?

The special buckle/unbuckle procedure does not disable the startup seat belt chimes that play in the ‘23s.

I followed this video and it seems like it worked. No more chimes when I drive back to my barn without seat belts.

Noticed the same on my 23. After the 6.8.0 update I no longer get the annoying reminder that I unbuckled my seatbelt after I park my car in the garage.

I hadn't noticed that with 6.8, but when I drop off my daughter and she closes the door, the car no longer honks the horn 2x if it thinks there is no key inside. It now has a very annoying sound it makes from the dash. I'm happy the horn honking is gone. They could have had a better sound (or no sound).

It would seem they've been making changes to alert sounds.

Right, that procedure disables the chiming while driving. But it does not disable the annoying startup chimes when you first turn the car on... that's what I still want to get rid of. The only way to prevent that I know of is to buckle your seatbelts before turning the car on at all. Then it will not chime and instead play the usual boot up noise.
