No CarPlay = no care.

Rivian is an interesting company. I get why people like their vehicles. But I’m addicted and refuse to go clean.

3 second 0-60 is a waste. Rather see some of that traded for longer range (gear ratio?).

Hoped for a bit taller than 66.9" too. Bronco Sport is 70", which is about perfect for my tastes.

But otherwise it sounds great.

I'm super interested, and they'll probably get my $100. I love what they've done with the R1S and R1T, so if this follows the same design styling in a smaller and cheaper package then I'm in.

Now that will fit in my garage ??
Same here. I've boxed my way into that limit sadly. But I'm shopping for a new house with a tandem garage space.
I'll pop $100 down. I threw more than that at T and the MME for many a year.

The Rivan looks nice, in fact, it was on our shortlist until Ford and Tesla announced their partnership?

my own interest in getting a electric truck is to tow and all electric RV. That combination is almost there now with the release of the Pebble.

Still, you were looking at coughing up at least $200,000 or more to set up an RV with a decent range??

I test drove the R1S last week. It is a very large and heavy vehicle. It rides okay, not as smooth as I expected. Despite the 3.1 sec 0-60, felt a bit sluggish given its size. Of course it is a massive vehicle on city streets and can see us struggle a lot with it.

Marketing an “adventure” / mountain tuned vehicle in the middle of downtown Chicago / flat Midwest is a bit of a joke.
Did you play with the different modes? Only gets that 0-60 in a specific mode. Also you have to be driving the quad motor one.

Same goes for the ride quality- changes significantly based on the mode.

Got to ride in my friends quad motor R1S. It definitely feels faster than my GTPE and also definitely rides better. But for sure feels larger as it is. But sluggish? Didn’t get that impression.

I was in the quad motor and yes played with a couple modes. It feels heavy and not as responsive as the Mach-E. I’m also navigating very narrow lanes on lakeshore drive in Chicago where the truck barely fits. So gunning it was less satisfying. I never tried to accelerate from a standstill. Maybe that’s where in shines.

Hard pass for me, regardless of price. I enjoy driving the Mach-E on smooth roads. I can also see how the Rivian is still not refined from a fit & finish perspective. You have to be a very forgiving person to think it’s an $85k vehicle.

I went ahead and reserved an R2. I have 2+ years to change my mind or to see if they stay in business haha.

They didn't reveal all of the specs during the event, nor have they published any preliminary specs for the variations of the R2 on their website. All we know is they have a single, dual and tri motor option, all of which are capable of 300+ miles of range, and that the performance variation will be able to do 0-60 in "well under" 3 seconds.

Looking forward to getting more details in the future.

$45k starting price, and over 300 miles of range across all configs, delivering in first half of 2026. They have my $100.
