Correct. You can also enable via Charge Assist.
Not if you do not have it, like many of us. I got the OTA in the car, still do not show Tesla in the app for P&C, and still do not have charge assist.

Supposed to get my adapter in April, wonder if Ford will have my software all working by then. Guess I will just use the Tesla app to charge, much more reliable.

Is there an obvious way to know if my mach E has the plug and play update? My wife and I switch off driving the EV, and I'm not sure. Also does anyone know if the routing program in the car has Tesla superchargers added to its potential charge stops? I did a test on my phone app, and at least for one longer distance trip we might take, there were still only electrify america stops.

Just got the Tesla update today after complaining to Ford EA.
But now waiting for: 23-PU1129-CBC-ODP

I received surveys last week and I wrote back telling them I had received neither.

So it looks like EA does actually have control over OTA....

Can anyone tell me what this OTA from last year is: 23-PU1129-CBC-ODP ?

All I can find is on the Lightning forums....

If you are asking about the Tesla Plug and Charge update, you will get this update in your vehicle notifications in the FordPass app.

I’m happy about Ford OTA. It’s not great, but it’s much better than most. Besides Tesla, is there any brand whose OTA competency is better than Ford?

My Mach E is job 1. So far I have received 6.8 and Tesla P&C update. In the past, I have done FDRS twice (enable BC and new Sync UI) with help from fellow forum members.
I hear Rivian tends to be decent at updates, but no personal experience. Volvo uses android automotive, so Google. It has consistent, predictable numerically sequential updates with actual information about each update. It unfortunately isn't as capable as android auto (sigh), but the OTA process is good.

Thanks! I unfortunately did not get it last night (I'm only scheduled to get updates M-TH, not sure why.) Car currently parked at an airport. Hopefully it will do it monday night. Anyone know about the addition of superchargers to the ford navigation app?

My update is downloaded and waiting to install. I don't mind it being doled out to everyone over a few weeks, especially when most of us don't have the hardware yet. But why can't all updates be carried out this efficiently?

A lot of complaints about the OTA process. Which seems like the biggest issue is delays in getting them out.

I came from a Tesla and have had my Mach E for a week now. I got one update last night. Seems like it installed in about 10 mins.

If you compare to Tesla updates that come 1-2 times most months, the Tesla update takes about 45 mins to install (can’t use the car in that time). And they also have had issues with bricking cars with the updates. Every time you get an update with any car there is a level of risk. Small overall but it is there. This past Christmas update from Tesla was particularly bad and caused issues with higher than normal numbers of teslas.
I’m in no rush to get an update. And sometimes getting it later can be better (safer)
Just wait. We’ll see how you feel when it gets cold abs your Mach-e battery doesn’t charge enough and needs cardioversion to install updates. Then you’d be pulling half the frunk off and break a couple clips. Then post complaining, only to have a couple helpful members point you to the troves of tools and templates some of us cooked up to drill holes and buy plugs to baby the LVB and revive it to receive OTAs.

Am I being too negative? Need to log off this forum and drive a gas car as therapy for a while.

I've never experienced any of those problems. Just hook it up to your L2 in the garage and it's ready to go in the morning.

I guess maybe, but I doubt it. Seems like most people have 12 v issues due to short drives or short charging times. Mine shows 95% SOH and it’s been sitting outside since November.

Tesla has those same covers and clips. They had lots of 12v problems but seem to be mostly solved since they went to a lithium low voltage battery. I’m sure other companies will follow suit eventually.

Are there any other companies that do OTA updates even as good as Ford does? Even Kia only just started doing it this year I think.

Just saying, none of them are perfect. Even the ā€˜gold standard’ isn’t perfect. So many people have issues with the synthetic leather bubbling and peeling in those cars. I was starting to have issues with it on my steering well before someone hit my car. Ford doesn’t seem to have that as a widespread problem for example. Pluses and minuses

Are people seriously complaining about the P&C rollout when none of the adapters have even shipped?
LOL well it gives us a brief respite from complaints about the price drop, the interface, the door chimes, OTAs, and whatever else is frequently complained about.

You had your car for a week and you feel that’s a representative experience about Ford’s OTAs? We have hundreds of pages of pain and suffering and broken promises and shitty notes, etc.

But glad you’re happy.
