With everyone saying that they have the adapter, but it still shows as "in production", I'm wondering if we all have BC 1.3, but they haven't updated the status yet. ? ? ? ? ?

Has anyone come up with a way to secure the adapter if you need to leave the charger unattended for a bit? I'm thinking of something like the following:
  • Narrow insulated wire cable, about 6 feet in length
  • Loop it through a small hole drilled in the lower outer end of the adapter (thinking it's unlikely there would be anything electrical/important there)
  • Run the cable over to the frunk, and attach it to a block or plastic pipe that can't be pulled out if the frunk is shut
The intent would be to stop anyone from casually walking away with the adaptor, not to stop a professional thief. The adapter, cable, and block could be easily stored in the frunk when not in use. And it would prevent one from forgetting to detach the adaptor when done charging (like in the old days when gas caps were unattached and left sitting on the car when you drove away from the gas station).

I'm hoping someone can try it (or A2z can make it) while I'm waiting for my adaptor to arrive in May. If not, I'm on it as soon as it arrives!

If Ford will just do a simple OTA update and not allow stopping of a fast charge by merely pressing the blue center button unless it's the driver or has unlocked the car - that would fix it easily.

Why Ford won't do that when other brands will lock their ports while charging....

Venting.

Honestly, I just want the adapter.

I probably will not have to fast charge until August, but, I just want it, now. I have been driving EV since 2019, the mach-e since last year and have never been stranded on a road trip but still just want it, now. I am number 9,xxx and for some reason I just want it, now.

As I said, never had a real problem with EA (love the Ford plug and charge) but I just want the Tesla adapter, now for some reason.

I have test driven Teslas and don’t really want one of those. Are their fast chargers really going to make me happy?

Call it a rant…

PS: I have bluecruise 1.2. It works great. Why isn’t everyone saying I have bluecruise 1.2…I guess I should be thankful.

Like kids, for about 30 seconds until they’re bored. Then they go back to watching cat videos on Facebook or dogs doing dumb stuff.
Like men. Want it, want it so bad. All the while I have no use for it whatsoever. But can’t help myself from checking FedEx and this thread 7 times a day just to make sure someone over order #2800 didn’t get it already ??‍♂

I left my vehicle for about 20 minutes ea during 6 charges amd no one messed with it. Small sample, once Superchargers are full may be a different experience. Most Tesla people were curious and not aware of the influx of vehicles coming.

Is anyone planning on selling their Ford adapter and keeping their third party adapter?

Ford plans to sell theirs for $230 based on what I see online and A2Z has it for $167 shipped after using the "FORD" discount code.

I would be tempted to buy a Ford OEM adapter if someone is planning on selling that and keeping the third party. Send me a message if you decide to sell it.

I know, it’s like the updates, we get a glut and then nothing. Then when you give up waiting it comes again.

I was thinking someone could 3D print some kind of plastic shroud that would prevent pressing the release button on the top of the adapter?

In other words the OTA dept. is handling shipping, so we don't get used to knowing when or where something may arrive.
While your comment is tongue in cheek, the reality is that Ford hired an outside logistics firm to do the shipping. The mistake is almost assuredly on that end. The amount of angst over a small number of adapters shipping out of order is over the top. No one has had real damages from a few folks else getting theirs early.
