Seems like a fake story doesn't it, based on some specific details? You cannot just buy a Tesla SUPERCHARGER adapter on Amazon right now, as far as I am aware. You can get them from A2Z or Lectron, but only on their websites. Not from Amazon right now. Unless people are calling the entire internet shopping scene "Amazon" now?
The article said the adapter didn’t work. You can definitely buy one that doesn’t work on Amazon.

Ooops didnt realize he said it didn't work. Makes sense then. Guess they bought the Tesla to J1772 adapter, not the Tesla to CCS adapter (which doesn't exist on Amazon).

Never had a confrontation about being allowed to pump dinosaur juice in my car. If I do while charging just gonna accept the feedback, unplug, keep my mouth shut and move on. People are capable of doing some pretty shifty things to one another.

If you read further, you would see that he failed to make the adapter work. He probably mistakenly bought a Tesla level 2 adapter, which is available on Amazon.

The ‘caller’ has a bit of a point about the “Tesla Only” signs. Those should be removed at the appropriate stations.

Mostly this sounds like a Karen-type person who just wants to control the world to work the way they think. No different from the stores of people at non-Tesla chargers trying to charge-police others for “not doing it right”.

Bound to happen somewhere. I’ve been glad to hear universally good stories about how Tesla drivers react.

I won’t have to worry when I get my adapter.

I feel gipped.

I tested the adapter tonight. No one called the police, no one confronted me, and no one stole the adapter while I left the car charging unattended.

My story is so boring.
But your mom still loves you. :)

That’s because you never took up two diesel pump trying to fill up your Prius.

Whether or not this story is real, it is going to be a problem as more and more non Tesla start charging at the superchargers. Mild at first. But it may get worse.

This is another example of Tesla just “removing a feature” from their car/ecosystem. First the radar. Then the sensors. Then the horn. Then the stalks. And now the revered exclusivity of their network. There’s a fair bit of reason for Tesla owners to be a little upset over this especially those who charge at typically busy superchargers

On my recent trip, one time one of the Tesla owners walked over to see if I was plugged in, but didn't say anything. Most of them just sat in their cars and didn't realize. One guy was nice and asked me how charging on Superchargers was going.

If this happens I would show the disgruntled Tesla owner the charge port light pulsing to prove that it's actually charging, and tell them that Tesla only allows authorized vehicles to charge on Superchargers, so it's legit.

I love it! And just as I predicted! Can't wait for the "Tesla owners are great tolerant peeps" apologist to come and defend the ? wanting to call the police!

So true. With most Diesel Ram owner's even if you are at a pump that is near a gas/diesel combo pump they will freak out, roll coal and if Kyle is really upset about it, he may throw his empty Monster can at you!

He didn’t even have the right adapter. Since he bought it on Amazon, it was likley a Level 2 adapter. I guess the Tesla owner wasn’t the only one needing more education.
Damn, this is what I came to say. I wonder how many people are going to make this exact same mistake
