Are you saying that if the car is traveling at a very slow speed through the curve it will disengage hands-free?

I don't understand what you mean it "keeps bugging about the wheel". I find BC 1.0 disengages from hands-free mode and switches to hands-on mode. In hands-on mode, if you choose not to apply pressure to the steering wheel it will remind you that you need to do so whether you are in a curve or not. If you don't comply it will alert you with sudden braking and eventually slow you to a stop.
Ok. You said in 1.0 that it disengages “ the car would reach those curves, decide the speed was too fast and disengage.”
I’m just pointing out that 1.0 disengages hands free regardless of how fast you’re going. Even at 10MPH.

That's good to know. Fortunately, I haven't encountered that.

You are right that this is a part of the new releases of Blue Cruise. In BC 1.0, the car would reach those curves, decide the speed was too fast and disengage. I like the new system much better.
ahh... I suspect I'd like the new system too... if only my car could get past 1.0

Thanks to all for confirming that this is "normal." But as a follow-on: when my Blue Cruise trial expires and I don't renew it, will I still have adaptive cruise control? And will it still have the nanny-state "too fast for even a Mustang to handle" curve speed reduction? Or does this go away with Blue Cruise?
I've heard you only lose highway hands free.

adaptive cruise control WITHOUT BC has done this from day 1.

it works pretty good on roads with good striping and/or guard rails ... not so good on gravel or without guard rails.

Yes

And will it still have the nanny-state "too fast for even a Mustang to handle" curve speed reduction?
Maybe. In part this will depend on if your car has been updated to the more advanced Blue Cruise.

On BC enabled roads the system may be trying to be a smart, cautious vehicle. In a couple of my previous cars the radar adaptive cruise control would sometimes see the concrete Jersey wall in a curve as a vehicle and slow down quickly. I learned to anticipate it, but that was long before the days of "hands free" driving.

Yes, although for my taste it often slows down too aggressively. Sometimes on sharper or longer curves, it seems like it can't make its mind up and slows down or speeds up multiple times. Most often in those situations I find myself disengaging cruise.

I prefer manual if there is no traffic ahead of me as I typically like to go somewhat over the 'recommended' speed...

but have found it useful to use adaptive when in a line of traffic driving in the mountains to maintain polite distance to the vehicle in front of me without having to touch the accelerator...

Oh yes, I use adaptive cruise all the time—probably more often than I should (e.g. on my drive to and from work on roads with speed limits ranging from 25-35). It’s just on those curves that I think it slows down too much.

I drove my parents’ Toyota Camry Hybrid on a recent trip through the Ozark mountains. Its adaptive cruise did a really nice job handling all sorts of speed adjustments through curves and hills with traffic. I only found myself needing to take over a handful of times in a few hours. Felt better than my MME to me.

Took about 180 mile trip for the first time in my car pretty much blue cruise was in effect the whole time. The one spot I noticed which is a problem is if they are doing highway work and moving the lines over and creating new lanes and the old lines are there and wants to push you towards the barrels on the side of the road. You have to be really careful, because it tried to push me into a couple of those today

I've had my MME for almost two months and finally took a long road trip. I noticed that when I have the adaptive cruise control on and the car approaches a curve it automatically slows down for the curve. I have had prior versions of adaptive cruise control on my 2018 Edge and 2021 Escape Hybrid and they never did this. What is annoying is that the car slows down far more than I ever would for the curves; sometimes dropping from 65 mph to 55 mph for a nice sweeping curve that is not really that sharp. I presume this is something to do with the latest version of cruise control and/or Blue Cruise. Is there anything I can reset in the car to make the slow down less drastic?
I have a 2023.5 Mach e GTPE. It also slows down for roundabouts and shows a reduced speed sign under the road speed time as you approach the roundabout. I brake in the round about because in my area they are on the small side and I prefer a slower speed than Bluecruise adjusts.
