Yeah, I don’t have a problem with the front bracket. I‘d prefer no front plate, but since my state requires them, I think the OEM bracket looks a lot better than any aftermarket options I’ve seen, and I consider it to be part of the car. I don‘t really care if there are holes in the bumper behind the bracket that will never be removed. In my mind, it’s like being bothered by the holes in the frame that are used to hold the fenders on.
The more I look at photos, I'm actually preferring the look with the plate holder in place. It helps break up all that flat expanse of body color where a contrasting color or grill should be. The monotone look and mustache you can't unsee are a bit much for my taste and always been a bit of a turn off. If mine were a GT however, I'd risk the ticket.

I guess it's OK if you like facial piercings.
I think it's more like having screws in your jaw bone after an injury since you can't see any holes or fasteners from the outside. I'm not a fan of facial piercings, but the OEM bracket on the MME doesn't bother me at all if the front plate is required anyway.

Nope. Becomes visible once you move to a state without front plates or pull it off to show it.

I guess the whole "move to another state" thing is valid if you move around a lot (I don't).

Pull it off to show what's under it? Why would you do that?

Oddly, one of the reasons my wife and I wanted a BEV was because of hurricanes. Power can go out around here for a fair bit of time following strong tropical storms. Having a car that isn't dependent upon gas pumps is handy. We're effectively off-grid as well with a hefty battery storage system.
When we had the great northeast power blackout back in 2003 ... stations couldn't pump without electricity. My state (Michigan) subsequently passed a law that all gas stations are required to have a backup power generator to allow gas pumps to work in the event of a power disaster.

I hope they remember to put gas in the generator before it runs out. Or else they'd be stuck in quite the catch 22 :)

I always hate it when Govt makes a business owner buy, and maintain something even if the business decides they would rather miss the revenue during outages. Let the owner decide, it's there investment money on the line not the state of Michigan! I bet the Generator Corporations loved the law.

My guess are these are orders that dealer placed without customer approval which is why probably a lot of these cars are showing up. These are also cancelled orders but dealer kept them so they have stock vehicles to sell for ADM.
It's so sad when so many people that have reserved a year ago are still waiting, in my mind Ford should have redirected to the next customer in line in the area that had a reservation/order.

I get your point, but that dealer did the work and paperwork to get to their lot. They have the right to it when the customer backs out. But I'm sure if you want it they will ship it to you.

After waiting over a year, a month or two extra isn't going to make much difference (for most). The logistics it would take to maintain a perfect place in line simply isn't practical and would probably add $1,000 delivery charges.

Now if there is a large % of vehicles like that and people patiently waiting are pushed out 4 months from these first shipments then I would start to be sad too about the process, although it would still be better than Tesla when they first launched the model 3 (although I do think they streamlined that a lot better for the y).

The customer may not have declined until the car arrived or until it was shipped. While I agree with your intent, logistically there's a point where that becomes difficult. Still not the best for those waiting though, but we'll get ours soon enough.

once it gets to the dealer it isn't ford's car anymore. It is the dealer's
