Hey Ford, taking my 1st Road Trip today using the Tesla Adapter. With the new 5.0 Ford Pass App, how do I know if "Plug & Charge" is turned on? I'm not downloading the Tesla App, so I'm counting on simple roll up to the V3 charger and let it do it's thing. Thx
In the new FordPass 5.0,

1. tap the “Energy” icon on the bottom of the home page.
2. Scroll to the bottom of the next page to the “Advanced” category and tap “Access & Permissions”
3. You’ll see the option to enable Plug & Charge. (NOTE: On the owner.ford.com website you have to make sure you set up a payment method for the Blue Oval Charging Network (it’s listed under “Connected Services”). You can’t use P&C unless there is a payment method.

Let me know if you get that working. Because … on my ‘23 GT the Plug & Charge is “off” and I cannot enable it (it shows an animation as if it is waiting … but it never turns on and it will eventually time out).

I wonder why this version pushed and enforced while it is clearly a bogus version and has some important features that were previously available now is missing. Some that makes me frustrated:

- Location does not show the last time of update (e.g. last update 15 minutes ago)
- No way to ask for refresh of the location (previously we could just swipe-down to get the latest updated location of the car)

At least make both versions available so that we can use the old one until you fix this. So many issues take a few months to fix.
This is my number one problem with the new app.

I was trying to make sure my partner got home safely from driving in bad weather and the damn app still showed her location at work as she pulled into the driveway.

Luckily I was able to go back to the old version from within the app and I haven’t installed the newest update.

How do you remote start your car via the app now? I do see an icon that looks like a fan, but it says it is starting the climate. Is this the new way of saying the car is being started?

Yes, I believe Hyundai calls it the same or “climate start”.

What do you want your car to do remotely. There is no engine to start. The only logical thing for an EV would be climate control.

When I checked mine, it was on. I’m on the trip now. Did 3 charging stops( all Tesla) and all FLAWLESS. The juice starts flowing with in 4-5 seconds. It’s outstanding!!

I do not get a picture of my car in the app. Is this something I need to upload?

I noticed today that I received 5.0.1 overnight on my S23+ Android 14 and my Location and Public Charging maps are working the way they should.
Thank you Ford

Does Location have the timestamp again and is it able to be refreshed as before?

No. It just opens now when you push the button. I don't know how accurate it is. I'm just happy to be able to find charging stations on the map now.

I suspect it is going to take Ford (and will/has been about everybody else) 5 years to get software to where we really don't notice it. Ford is getting there.

First time to charge after getting the latest version of the app (5.0.1).
2023 Mach-E Premium, RWD with 91kW battery.
Iphone 13 on IOS 17.4.1

Arrived home last night 9:45pm. The car and app showed 19% battery remaining. I plugged the car into my Ford Connected Charger (Level 2) and verified that charging had commenced. I had the slider set to stop charging at 85%. The app told me that the charging would be complete at 3:15 in the morning, or 5 hours and 30 minutes from the start. I went to bed and this morning I verified that the charge had completed and unplugged the car at 7:10am.

The charging summary in the app shows this:
Ford Mustang Mach-E Newly Designed FordPass 5.0 App®: What to Know IMG_5778

The only thing correct on this screen is the charging start time and the percentage of charge added to the car. 66% and 217 miles added to the 19% I started with would bring the car to 85% as requested. The "time charging" and the "end" time is incorrect. The duration of the charge session is also incorrect. This is showing the time that the charger was plugged into the car not the duration of the actual charging session. Note also that energy added value is shown as 97kWh which is not possible with a 91kWh pack that was charged 66%. I do see how this number was derived, it is a function of the the charging rate (10kW per hour) times the total time the car was plugged in (9 hours 20 minutes).

I've got to believe that even the simplest of testing on the app before release would have shown this problem. I'd like to volunteer as a beta tester. I have 40 plus years in data science and app development.

Interesting to note the "Charger Insights" show the correct information with the "charge complete" message and the correct amount of energy added (63.331 kWh) but the "Charge Events" value shows the disconnect time and not the time the charge session ended.

It's great to see people posting what is actually taking place in this new app because so much of it is hidden. Like you don't know how the charging situation is gonna work until you plug-in
