Apologies ahead of time if my search skills missed this question already.

I'd like to be able to make use of L2 charging to top off during road trips. (i.e., I reach my destination at night with 10-20% range and I just want to go to sleep and not have to hit a super charger as soon as I get in / wake up).

It seems like many hotels/motels/bnb/etc. only have Tesla Destination Chargers.

I just noticed the "fine print" on Fast Charging Adapter page on Ford.com, saying the following:
  • To use Tesla Destination Chargers, a separate adapter is required and available for purchase from third-party sellers.
Are there any recommendations for such third-party adapters?

I'm seeing the A2Z Stellar: https://a2zevshop.com/collections/charging-adapters-home-page/products/a2z-stellar-plug

Any thoughts on the Lectron Tesla to J1772 adapter? https://ev-lectron.com/products/lec...tination-chargers-and-mobile-connectors-black

Other choices?

I got an EV CONN TSL to J1772 adapter from Amazon for $60CAD and it worked well. A2Z front QC is also a good source.

I recommend TeslaTap 60 amp version. BTW it will also work on your future EVs.

My Lectron arrived before the car did and I use it very often. At work, we have J1772's and Tesla Destination chargers, which I am allowed to use. The J1772 brand that we have runs at about 4kW, while the Tesla Dest Chargers onsite run at 8kW so I can fill the car from 10% to 95% or so on a shift using the Tesla. Te J1772 usually gets me to 50 or 55% in the same time period.

Also, most places, if they offer charging, usually have 3 or 4 times as many Tesla Dest chargers versus the J1772s. So I can leave the 1 or 2 J1772s free for folks without the adapter.

Also #2, I have noticed that many hotels in my part of Canada have swapped their free J1772s for new, pay to use, chargers, while the Teslas still remain free.

My cost was about $300.00 CAD and I am sure that it paid for itself in the first 6 months or so.

The Tesla Tap Mini 60a is likely the best second choice would be the A2Z (probably the best value), I would avoid the Lectron
Unless they've changed the tolerances, I wouldn't recommend the Tesla Tap Mini. The one I have fits way too tightly on the Tesla side and the J1772 side got stuck in my wife's RAV4 Prime. I replaced it with a Lectron, which has been flawless.

I bought a TT Mini 60A in early 2021. I’ve only used it once just to make sure it worked, and didn’t notice any fitment problems. Maybe I got lucky.

Me too 5 years no fitment issues. It was tight for the first few uses but so was my A2Z Typhoon. The thing I have noticed is TT seems to be the most compatible.

Or maybe I was just unlucky. I have two of them, and both have the same issue. I had to stand on the Tesla cable to have enough leverage to remove the adapter.

Compatibility and build quality. I have a Tesla tap mini that I got from their eBay discount store and a a2z nacs to j1772. They both seem to work the TT has had zero issues and a2z gets extremely hot when charging and that makes me nervous.

TT also sells "import" adapters on Amazon that are cheaper but have the better compatibility

Not sure about the one you linked to. The Tesla Tap is way too expensive in my book and thart’s why I never bought one. A2Z makes one at a reasonable price - even more reasonable if you bundle it with the CCS to Tesla adapter. That’s what I bought and am happy with the product and price.

I agree, paying $300 for something that I will use probably at most 10 times is insanity. Thats why I was looking at these cheaper options...would be nice to have just as a backup. I already have the Ford NACS adapter, so I have no reason to bundle the two adapters to save money.

The A2Z adapter is $110 By itself. You could buy the cheapest one off Amazon - they’re probably all made in the same Chinese factory. Up to you. Good luck.
