Because of my lack of confidence in Tesla production I have ordered a A2Z.

I figured that was just the way to go right now.

A2Z’s best salesman is Elon…

Welp, yet another Ford promise that is probably not happening (unless you have a YouTube channel). Yes, I know they have to wait for Tesla to build them, but Tesla didn't promise them to us, Ford did.
You’re really going to blame Ford for Tesla firing their entire SC team… I can’t imagine anyone in Ford (or Tesla) assumed that was even a possibility

Mine has an estimated ship date of October. Maybe people who ordered earlier had different verbiage, but I can’t claim any promise will be broken if it doesn’t come by October, it’s an estimate, not a promise.

So I have an A2Z because I wanted access earlier.

True, but Ford made the promise. A2Z is making them, Ford can make good on the promise and get them from another vendor.

1. That’s assuming A2Z can handle that kind of volume. plus they already have existing order to fulfill.
2. the “free” adapter for ford customers was likely part of their deal with Tesla so I imagine they want to exhaust options on that deal before moving to another vendor and spending $18 million on new adapters.

Fine and dandy until Musk resides to block any buy Tesla-built adapters.

At the moment, there are no other approved adapters, except for ones supplied by Tesla to Ford. Ford just can't start buying adapters from another vendor without approval from Tesla.

Here is Musk's reply:
I must say that three years ago when I was ready to purchase an EV, I could not make the leap of faith on all the nebulous things that The Muskrat constantly put out there and so I went with the MME. For all the Genius Accolades that he gets, I mostly see someone who mainly fails upward leveraging a fair amount of luck along the way. Read his Wikipedia page to get a better idea of his "right time, right place" vibe that served him well. I have low expectation on receiving an adapter, just like ever seeing a Hands Free BlueCruise worth the cost of a subscription.

I don't put a lot of trust in Wikipedia. Our youngest son and his friends got in trouble in high school for editing the page for the transcontinental railroad with details of the high-speed rail that it included. Some very old guy hunted down their IP address to the school and said this almost gave him a heart attack.
