I use charger that came with my Mach e on 220v. I have my home location identified in the nav app in the car. But when I go to "charging locations," there are no sites listed. I have only used a public charger a couple of times so I'm not surprised that they are not showing up.
I tried plugging the charger in with the key "on" and it didn't recognize it as a location. Although it did acknowledge that the car was charging.
My goal is set my home charging to 85
-90% but since it doesn't recognize home as a location, I don't have the options to override the 100% default (?) setting that is in place.
What else can I do to get home as a charging location so I can make those changes?

Sorry you’re having this challenge. The MME’s lack of a universal charge limit is ill-conceived, to put it charitably. I would think the car would know where it is and allow you to set its location as a charging spot.

I'm a two job guy and one of my jobs is self employed with a home office. The other job has nowhere to plug in. So I named my house "work," with respect to charging locations.

Doesn't affect me naming the hospital "work" with respect to CarPlay. I think the house is named "Home" on the car's navigation system too without the car having any angst about where it lives, but I seldom use the built in navigation system except to navigate to a fast charger for the conditioning aspect. If the car's navigation system had voice commands I'd use it a lot more.

I don't think I have any charging locations saved in the charge limit gizmo besides my garage. I just watch the gauge when I'm fast charging and unplug when I've got the charge I need to get to the next charger.

I'm sure there's a more elegant solution but that's how mine is set up and I'm too lazy and 20th-Century to change it.

Have you pressed the edit button for charge locations in the settings and then pressed add location? (Quick read of the owners manual - only did this once when I purchased my car two years ago) if this does not work I would suggest clearing out all locations and then starting over (unless there are others you have saved for a reason.) All I can think of. Hope it helps.

When I go into Edit Locations I receive a message that says I have to first charge at a location before it will be displayed to edit. There are none displayed. How do I get it to show up there?

I just moved into a condo with underground parking. Got a charger installed but I cannot set the charge limit since I do not have GPS signal at the parking space and cannot set the location outside without first charging.
Ford should allow universal charge limit.

I will try to set the location using the 120V charger if I can find a plug close to the garage entrance.

I have been communicating with FordPass about this since I posted back in March. It took them 2 months to understand my problem, but they still have no solution. GPS works for my location, just for some reason it won’t register that with the charging feature of the software. Works ok at public chargers.

This won't be much help, but I do know that the "Home" location defined on the maps screen has nothing to do with the location you define in the charge screen - two separate things. The first time you add a location in charging, the recent charge locations just shows as a set (or sets) of GPS coordinates. But from what I understand, this is what is not showing up for you when you go to add a location, which is the issue. Like I said - not much help. Sorry.

There is nothing you can do if you can't get a GPS signal. So, you need to find a way to get a GPS signal at that location.

Note that IF you do, and you set a location, it still will not solve your problem if at your parking spot there isn't a GPS signal. Why? Because you aren't at the location per GPS...

Your solution is an INTELLIGENT charger that allows you to set charging times. The problem with that solution is that the car has no universal charge limit, as you noted. Therefore, each time you charge, you would need to use the charger's software to set the starting and ending SOC. Or, just the ending, by doing math.

Example: You are at 30%, and want to go to 90%. That's 60%. Tell the software to either go from 0 to 60%, or go from 30% to 90%. Same end result.

Our condo had to set up an entirely separate metering system for the underground parking slots. Expensive, also as part of that setting up a garage WiFi system. The Wallbox charger does not talk nicely to my iPhone nor my MME. For a variety of reasons it cannot be a 'smart' charger. Amongst other things they must be on the same WiFi system, and our phones may be on any of three down there.

Wallbox has loved to blame users, smart phones (required to talk to system), and cars for the problems. Finally persuaded them to acknowledge that ‘What we’ve got here is failure to communicate’

Sometimes it's taken several tries or a day to get the thing working. But we have 'high hopes', that at some point it will be boring to plug the damn thing in and just get a charge.

ps - for the first time my phone and Ford Pass now recognize that Wallbox as my home charger.

Allowing a universal limit would solve most of the problems, and it is easy to override it with the FordPass to charge to 100% when needed.

Is your car connected to WiFi while charging? That may help Ford locate your car.

As we progress with this change we'll see two things: 1) new construction will rough this stuff in from the start and 2) technicians will get better/faster at retrofits as demand increases. There will be good money in these upgrades in the years to come.

Yep. The router is in the window next to where it’s parked, so the signal is good. Updates regularly auto download.
Thanks for the suggestion ?
