There is usually a plausible side to every debate. This is not the case. Ford named it a Mustang and it has Mustang emblems on it along with the MSRP and Title having the name Mustang on it.

Like I mentioned to the one of the other posters, if one has a particular view of something in their head, they often can't change that view even though it is staring them right in the face.

Just because almost everything is different from the OG Stang, does not mean it is not a Mustang.

People debate stupid things everyday and I think I have fallen into that trap with this "debate".

It is a Mustang. Not because I think it is a Mustang but rather I clearly see the name Mustang on it.

You may not accept it but that really doesn't matter. It is not up for debate when the facts are so clearly shown to be a Mustang...................Mustang Mach E.

If I were to call someone a doofus and then later I called them a doofus head, at the end of the day they are still a doofus no matter what adjective I place in said name. ;)
You have figured out how to keep a debate going this many pages into it……just bring back all the same arguments that were made pages ago. ?

Having something as part of your name doesn’t make you that thing.

Green beans aren’t beans.
Strawberries aren’t berries.

There were other examples but it was pages ago so even I forgot. ?

But to be clear, a Mustang Mach E and a Mustang are two completely different vehicles. Even though they share some of the same nomenclature.

Doesn’t take much to change something drastically.

No need to thank me. It's enough just to know that I have helped.

DEARBORN, Mich., Nov. 30, 2022 – Ford has produced its 150,000th Mustang Mach-E since starting production nearly two years ago, a significant milestone as the company scales EV production to a rate of 600,000 annually by late 2023 and more than 2 million annually by 2026.

Almost all of Mustang Mach-E’s growth to date is coming from customers replacing an internal combustion vehicle with electric – more than 8 in 10 U.S. customers and 9 in 10 European customers – proving that Ford is creating electric vehicles that meet broad customer needs.

“When we put the pony on this Mustang, we knew we’d have skeptics. What we didn’t quite know then was just how popular this car would become,” said Darren Palmer, vice president, Electric Vehicle Programs, Ford Model e. “I love seeing Mustang Mach-E vehicles on the road and talking to customers, and I am seeing more and more of them.”

The Mustang Mach-E is available in 37 countries across the world for 2023, up from 22 in the vehicle’s first year. New Zealand, Brazil and Argentina are among the latest markets added to the Mustang Mach-E stable. Global growth comes as Ford upgrades Cuautitlán Stamping and Assembly Plant – which built the 150,000th vehicle – to support even more customers.

Is that the same Darren Palmer that said my 2021 Mach E GT would get a power upgrade OTA?

Well his word is as good as gold! ?

Because I have a Premium and have never been in a GT, I was on the assumption they all said MUSTANG on the door sill?

You did, at one time have the word MUSTANG on your GT though. The window sticker said as such.

Just order another sticker and place it on and ta da, you can now proudly display that your car is a Mustang!!
Ya thanks, not much of a stickers guy, the pony badge suits the car very well.

Besides, it doesn’t just have the pony badge, what’s most important is it has both the looks and especially the performance* of a Mustang. I would not have bought this car if it was a minivan, pickup truck, or an Escape looking econobox with dismal acceleration/handling engagement and ponies and “Mustang” slapped all over it.

*some of the performance of a Mustang. While they didn’t quite go all out, they did go far enough to create a car worth our attention.

People say things like this all the time here.

But other than top speed, the Mach E GT mops the floor with almost every ICE Mustang ever made in every measurable stat.

You are assuming this is a debate. If we were to walk outside and you pointed to a a blue car and called it red, it would simply mean that you have a sight problem. No debate. The car is blue even though you insist on calling it red.

On my door sill, it only says Mustang. It doesn't say Sodium and it doesn't say Chlorine. It doesn't even say Sodium chloride which is tasty. ;)

It says Mustang. When you say name doesn't make you a "thing", you are seeing a red car.

I am seeing a blue car which is blue. I am seeing the word Mustang on my car and you are still seeing red and suggesting that the "name" is not a thing.

I am guessing change doesn't come easy to you. The Mustang has been around for 60 years and it has gone from a slow car to a fast car back to a slow car and going from sweet looking car to an ugly car back to a sweet looking car and a carbureted car to an injected car to an electric car................you get the point.

Is it a different Mustang, yes. Is it a Mustang, yes. The only debate is when you are going to get your vision checked? ?

My vision is fine.

It’s why I can read “Mustang Mach E” is different than just plain old “Mustang.” Your door sill may say Mustang, but the outside finishes with “Mach E.”

Hopefully you read “sodium chloride” differently than “sodium” when it’s labeled as such.

If you are still confused, go to a Ford dealer and ask them to buy a Mustang (and do not say anything else to clarify). They will gladly sell you one that has 2 doors and runs on dead dinosaurs.

Honestly on the GT models I think they should just be called a GT. Think about it would you rather tell folks you drive a Mustang Mach E GT or would you like to say I have a Ford GT? Yeah, GT all day every day! ?

Oh, it is most definitely a debate, if it were not then you would not keep coming back to correct @Mach1E !

Exactly.

Should I start arguing that I drive a Ford GT since my Mach E has “GT” as part of its name?

Some here seem to think that sharing part of a name is all it takes to be that thing. ?

Just out of curiosity, is this a Mustang or a GT 500?

GT 500

I am so confused. It says GT 500 on the side of the car but says Mustang in the title?

It must be sodium chloride....................

If you want to keep coming back with all the same arguments that were made pages ago, it would be faster to just read the whole thread. ?

Make- Ford
Model- Mustang
Trim- GT500

Make- Ford
Model- Mustang Mach E
Trim- GT

But if you didn’t read the thread, maybe you missed the title too- Farley says it’s not a Mustang.

Which is why I consider it a legit Mustang! Because Ford said so (even Farley, until now), and gave it the performance to match!

Please take a look at this window sticker.

View attachment windowsticker (24) (1).pdf

Next, is this car a Mustang? It is listed as "Shelby" with the trim being a GT 500 Coupe, so using your definition this is NOT a Mustang but rather a Shelby. Does it have the "bones" of a Mustang? Yes. But according to you, this is no longer a Mustang because of the Model being a Shelby.

Now my Mustang Mach E clearly has the name Mustang on the door sill and is easily read with no Mach E attached or the like. In fact, one could argue using your flawed logic that it more closely is in line with the brand Mustang than the Shelby is with the Mustang?

Do you think Farley would suggest the Shelby is not a Mustang as well?

Riddle me that.

It is sodium chloride if you will with out the sodium.
