It didn't stop me from buying one, but personally (my opinion) I think it was a horrible mistake linking this car to the Mustang. Slightly modify the hood and the taillights and you could have named it anything in order to bring out a new generation of EVs with a fresh name.
These days I think Mustangs hold a negative connotation out here in the 'burbs. Every Mustang I see is driven by an 18-20'something who has installed a swiss-cheese exhaust bellowing an absolutely obnoxious-loud noise. It seems used Mustangs are the easiest entry-level muscle car for younger folk to tinker with. Thankfully the numbers are less then they were in the 80's, but Mustangs appear to be the most common culprit.
