Ignore pets or children or whatever. It’s just me.

if I just want to run into a store, pick something up, or whatever, why would I shut off the car? As soon as I remove the PaaK, it will lock the car and disable driving, right? Plus, if I get too distracted, it will eventually shut off.

I know it will take a minuscule amount of power, but if I just want to keep the cabin comfortable, why wouldn’t I leave it on?

And you can do it in peace by disabling the annoying double honk in Forscan.

Ah posted wrong link. It's this one.

The original one was for the power meter. Sorry!

This is exactly how it is done in Tesla.
You don't have to do anything, it understand when you left the driver seat and take actions accordingly.
This honk is annoying, true

I do this all the time and disabled the double honk the day I got it.

If you get out of the car in a Tesla won’t it turn off? How does it know you want to leave the climate running if you don’t put it in pet mode?

Walk away lock will not lock if you leave it running. Use the bottom 2 keypad buttons or the lock button.

I just park normally then remote start during checkout etc. Same effect and it’s just one button in FordPass.

Doesn't your car shut down after a period of time when you remote start it unless you go into settings and turn off "Auto Off Timer"?

Remote starts have their own timer. You can extend it once, but you can’t disable it. The auto-off timer that you can disable only applies when you start the car the old fashioned way and leave it on.

That was my point. Remote start will not allow the car to stay on indefinitely like leaving the car running will.

As I leave the car and start walking through the parking lot, I just whip up the app and start the car. I believe it has a 15 min timer and you can extend; but doubt you will need to; sounds like your talking about a quick in and out. As I too, HATE the double honk!!!

I wish the mirrors would fold when I leave the car running and lock it! This would visually confirm that it is locked. The double honk only confirms that it is running.
