Hello,

Does anyone know about these issues? I own a 2023 Mach-E Select AWD. Firstly, I tried to check the HV Battery Power information, but I couldn’t read any HV Battery Power data from the OBD2 signals. I tried three different scanners:

  1. Vgate vLinker MC+ (BT3.0/BLE4.0) ELM327
  2. Veepeak OBDCheck BLE+ Bluetooth 4.0 OBD2 Scanner
  3. Veepeak OBDCheck BLE Bluetooth 4.0 OBD2 Scanner
I used the Car Scanner app for all of them. Strangely, my friend has the same car model and can access the HV Battery Power information. We used the same app and the same device (Veepeak OBDCheck BLE+ Bluetooth 4.0 OBD2 Scanner), but my friend uses an Android phone while I use an iPhone. I even tried checking my car with an Android phone, but I still couldn’t read the information. Could this be an issue with the car’s signal itself? Or is there another way to check?

Secondly, the official battery capacity of my car is 72 kWh. However, every time I charge it, the OBD2 shows 74 kWh. What could be the issue here?

If anyone knows the answer, please let me know. Thank you.

Just sold a Vgate vLinker MC+ Wifi. and the buyer said it was important that it was with Wifi, as otherwise it wouldn't work on his iPhone. I myself use Vgate vLinker MC+ (BT3.0/BLE4.0) ELM327 and it works super fine on Android. So maybe you should choose a wifi model for your iPhone. Of course, I don't know that myself, but that's just what I was told.

72 kWh is the usable capacity. So you're seeing the usable capacity + the battey buffer (total battery capacity).

Pretty sure Car Scanner doesn’t support some of the newer models or the LFP pack. Contact the developer.

I rented a 2023 last year and my obd + car scanner would not report the HV battery energy or HV battery power. The same setup works fine on my 2021 Premium. I never got it to work on the rental.

My rental was a Premium and my 2021 is a Premium. Maybe there is a difference between the Select and the Premium?
