Wait - they are rolling people BACK to it? Is there anyone who had the newer BCM update (that just showed up in FDRS a week or two ago) that had this older BCM pushed to it??

My impression was that people getting this older (March 2024) BCM still had the newer (July 2024) BCM update pending in FDRS.
I never installed the new BCM via FDRS.

I do not think I ever received this in March either...95% sure.

I just got the notice as well. Is there any chance this addresses the mysterious 2023 12v low battery lock out issues being recently reported in these forums?
I got a notice yesterday too, but I had just turned off auto-updating in the morning, out of concern about people getting bricked '23s from some battery/software issue. So I'm holding off as of now. Any info appreciated!

The update that is queued up and waiting for my approval is 24-pu0121-ftdi-fx ota - the subject of this post...

Any update that requires the vehicle to be inhibited has the possibility that it won't come out of inhibit mode. Based on the name, this particular update is to prevent that from happening. It would be ironic that an update that prevents a vehicle from getting stuck in inhibit mode actually causes a vehicle to get stuck in inhibit mode, but stranger things have happened, I guess.

For what it's worth, I installed this update last evening and haven't noticed anything wonky.

I did get a different OTA update a few weeks back that mysteriously erased my SiriusXM music tags. Hopefully that's the worst "glitch" that I encounter with an update.

Same thing happened to me, a few weeks back - erased all of the radio presets. I think it was the "Entry Made Easy" update that did that.

I just got notice of this update on my way home from work.

I recently turned off auto updates because I'm concerned about getting an update that will lock me out of my car or worse.

Any glitches for those who have downloaded?
No issues at all for me. I let it install immediately as I had just pulled into a parking lot ?

It didn't take out my SXM presets (thank goodness) but it DID leave the radio untuned and I had a massive blast in my ear when I started up after.

It installed on my wife's J1 23 GTPE last night. She drove it to work this morning and I haven't heard any complaints so I assume all is well.

So perhaps we need to pay attention to which BCM firmware/strategy people have when they encounter the "locked out but 12v still has power" issue.
There are a few of us who were fully updated via FDRS on 23.5 models before the most recent BCM update that Mike G first saw came out and we can find out the members who have had their cars bricked from the various posts. Is it possible for someone with PTS access check the vehicle history with the corresponding vins or is this something you can't do in the software?

I have the new BCM from FDRS I installed last week. Have not been sent this newest OTA as of yet.

To be clear: You installed the BCM last week via FDRS (and so should have the newest one that Mike G discovered a couple weeks ago.) This newest one (that I'm calling July 2024) isn't being sent OTA.

The one that people are getting OTA is from March of 2024 so it's not really "new." It's just the OTA system catching people up.
