Had an update last week, had home charger set to location to 90%. It charged to 100% and all my locations were wiped. I’ve since tried charging again and will not let me add a location after being plugged in multiple times either in app or vehicle. I’ve done a hard reset which was a real pain to set up again but did not work using the app aafter multiple charges. Anyone else having the same problem or know of any solutions?

Looks like after the hard reset of the car I was able to add the location via In car settings which now shows in the app. It was not allowing me to do this prior to the hard reset. Hope this helps others out! The reset in settings > general > reset > factory reset. This does wipe your data and you have to add everything back such presets and keys.

I did the Factory Reset after reading the 12v option did not always work. Factory Reset is a PITA but it did work. Had to re-pair phone, redo all of my selections in the car and start a charge. But then my home location popped up and I was able to select and name it and set a charge level. Let it charge for a bit and the was able to do the same in Ford Pass.

It's not the first time this has happened to owners after an OTA. And it won't be the last. There are some OTAs that just end up wiping out the home charging location and it has to be setup again. Disconnecting the 12V battery is a bit extreme. Normally you'd just delete the Home location map point and then set that up again, and then after plugging in to charge you'd set this new Home location you just created as the "Home charger" and reset your settings to whatever you had before. It is a PITA, but once you've done it a couple of times.....

12v battery disconnect seems like a much bigger hassle than just doing a factory reset. Maybe if the battery was easier to get to it would be a good solution but since it isn't I would rather just re do all my settings. That's why I just reset my head unit when I had this same problem. Worked perfectly.
Fixing the issue with a 12v battery reset keeps all your presets and settings. All you have to do is add new charging locations after.

This did not work for me. That’s why I did a 12v battery reset.

Yeah I know but at least for me it’s faster to just do a factory reset. By the time I’ve dismantled the frunk, disconnected the battery, waited 10 minutes, reconnected the battery and reassembled the frunk I’m already back on the road after a factory reset.

I’m new here and just encountered this issue as well.

I will try the factory reset option.

Has there been any communication from Ford about this issue? Also, does anyone know Ford’s rationale for not just allowing a primary “max charge level” setting that could be overridden by saved charging locations?

It is a bit confusing as to why this isn’t just a global setting. Also, why in the world do you need to charge in order to add a charging location in the first place? If I want to add a charging location, just save my GPS location and call it a day.

What am I missing here? There must be a reasonable explanation for such an obtuse user experience.

Factory Reset did not do it for me and I'm not comfortable to reset the battery itself. Is my last option is to go to a dealer? Or should I just factory reset again.

EDIT: I checked back on the app and it allows me to target charge now.

Verify. Factory reset fixes the issue
