Something doesn’t make sense. The text highlighted in yellow says that charging is limited by the onboard charger to 11 kW. But the Ford Connected Charge Station is rated for 48A. I’m assuming that they’re taking 20% off the 50A rating for the 14-50 plug, right?

I just answered my own question (stupid me): Power = Current * Voltage. They’re claiming 12 kW on the 240V 50A outlet, so they did NOT derate by 20%! Had they done so, they would have had 9.6 kW. Oh, and for a 48A circuit? 11.52kW. I wonder if the onboard charger is really limited to 11 kW or it’s really a bit more?

May just be a formatting choice on the screen (displaying 11.52 as just 11).

Fortunately it's a very minor difference for the vast majority of people. Charging at home isn't like charging en route during a road trip, where you've probably run it down to 10% and need a hefty charge. Most people will probably just be adding around 20-30 kWh (if even that) on a typical home charge rather than 50-60 kWh like on a road trip stop.

Looking at the comments they seem to be arguing that the calculator doesn't take into account the 80% rule of the circuit.

(One comment seemed to think that the site was only for Mach-E but I could select my Bolt and other cars--that comment was a year old as well so...

Is it accurate for the Bolt? Got me since I don't know how long it takes to charge as its full by morning and that is enough.)

Cool. Seems accurate for my car. It said it would take 1 hr and 6 minutes and actual time it took was 1 hr 4 min. I say that is spot on.

For my 2019 Leaf SL it is very accurate. I have a 32a Juice Box charger.

Looks like it doesn’t include PHEVs so I can’t check its accuracy for my Outlander.

Checking my wife Audi eTron its accurate.. but not perfect because our eTron charges at 10.5kW and the calculator set the limit to 9.9kW .. so it’s off by 25min or so still accurate as it’s close ..

We’ve been wondering for a while what the maximum L2 charging rate is on the Mach E and haven’t found an answer anywhere from Ford.

The calculator says Tesla limits model 3 and Y SR charge max power to 7.7kW
Is that accurate?

Its right on my window sticker:

Clearly that isn't the max of the mobile charger included with the car because that is less than 10kW.

Perfect. Sounds like we finally have that answered: 10.5 kW. Thanks!

Interesting that I dont see that line on my VIN sticker - perhaps due to space limitations and they adding other items for the FE/Premium?

Could be. But what if this indicates your vehicle doesn't include a functional AC charger? ?
