23 GTPE vs 24 GT (Rally)

Team - about to move on from my 2022 Bronco since I went from a 6 mile round trip commute to 85. Shopped, test drove, and am narrowed down to 2 great deals offered To me. What I’m stuck on is how improved the 2024 actually is over the late model year 2023 (and how I can be for sure the 23 has the mid year improvements).

I am tall and like the rally ride height and larger sidewall tires. It drives nice. A little better over bumps, and braking seemed more “normal“. In rally mode it felt more like a nice “normal“ car.

But I can get a 23 GTPE for 6k less. (If I buy… leasing puts the Rally just 25 more a month than buying the 23.… assuming I can buy the Rally early without penalty May be the sweet spot…).

Your knowledge on the 23 vs 24 changes would help me decide! Your advice and thoughts are welcome.

There is a thread listing the changes and although not that significant I would go with the 24 if I were you just for the comfort factor you mentioned.

To know whether the 2023 is the 2023.5 with the updates, I believe you are looking for a July (2023)or later build date on the door jamb tag.

Or open the Frunk and see if there is one or two coolant expansion tanks. The updated Mach-E will have only one expansion tank with green coolant. (the one near the firewall)

Still, the 2024 has even more updates that might tip your decision. An extra 100 ft lbs of torque, and less software throttling is very appealing to many of us who stare with envy. :)

Personally, I believe a 2023.5 GTPE and a 2024 Rally are both wicked choices.

Why even ask, get the 24, and be done with it! The 2024 has too many advantages over the 2023, so it's not worth considering.

Plus I have decided when it comes to EVs I am not buying again only leasing look at the used value of a low milage any brand EV

I also sold my 22 bronco wildtrak and I did get a 24 mach e gt with the performance upgrade. Go 24, you won't regret it. It's a better version of the 23

That remains to be seen. With 2023s having failures, I lack the confidence that Ford has solved the problem. Now, if the Rally had the Lightning's HVBJB, that would mean something.

2024.....best HVBJB available!
We have already seen mention of failures of a couple GT and Rally trim HVBJBs. More are probably on the way. I think I am going to wait on trying to blow up my second generation HVBJB until I hear of a 4th generation, wait for it to fail normally, or until my Options contract is up so I can get a ‘26 (hopefully) in December of ‘25. ?‍♂?

It‘s crazy. Ford knows what to do to eliminate the HVBJB issues yet they carry on, keep replacing and ignoring the owners concerns about future failures. Ford, just fix the problem already. Hire the guy who designed the HVBJB for the Lightning. Enough already!!!

The 24 rally would have the upgraded motor and also give you the option of paying for the performance upgrade. The

each successive generation of hvjbs is supposed to be the "bestest" but unfortunately they still fail but seems not as high a number as earlier.
