Has anyone in ME, NH, VT or MA tried the Continental DWS 06+ or Hankook EVOs? If yes, what size and how are they?

I'm running the Continental Viking Contact 7 in a 225/60R18 for 2 seasons now. I stepped down from the 19" to give a bit more rubber for the potholes in winter. The outside circumference is nearly the same as the factory wheels. They are pretty good in the snow, ice, and slush although we haven't had much this year.

Right. I'm still programmed to prepare for slushy and snowy driving this time of year but it has hardly materialized. Certainly not going to run summer tires all year long but am starting to think, with warming winters, all seasons (instead of pure snow tires) are definitely the way to go.

Might come down to price. The Hankooks are pretty expensive. I used to put Continentals on my Acura before getting the MME and always liked those tires. I think I'm going to go to a 245 though. I have more than enough range even in the winter at 80% SoC.

I wouldn't go 245 for winter. They'll ride up on the snow more than the 225 and slip/slide more. I worry more about the ice we get here. The all-seasons don't cut it for me on the icy roads which we seem to get regularly even if we don't get much snow.

Steer clear of Continental. Had a brand new set installed by Ford, first winter, first 1,000km and trying to have them honor their warranty or standby their product as been impossible.

I will never purchase Continental again.

Well I'm in southern NH and we've had above freezing temps mostly and little precipitation. Like I said, the warm(er) weather driving season has been getting longer down here. I'd rather buy a tire for the conditions that occur most of the year.

I rode Continentals on my Acura for seven years with no issues. Other members in the forum have installed Continental DWS 06+ on their MME's but many are in full-time, warm weather locales. I was hoping to get feedback from someone closer to home.

I live in the Adirondacks and am personally looking at the General Altimax Arctic 12's.
IDK if it's still the case but I know in the past the General Altimax Arctic was just the old mold of the Nokian Hakkapeliitta.

Wife had those Generals on her Bolt EUV for 2 winters and had no complaints as far as noise and grip went.

I'm also considering the Hakkapeliitta R3's though...

Gusssssss..my husband has the Bridgestone Turanza EV on his Kona. He drives 23k a year and they've held up and gripped well especially seeing how that car is FWD. I have 20k on my original tires and got the tire alert this morning for the first time, front right was down to 26. I am thinking I need new tires soon too.

I had CC2s on my Tesla Model 3. Very small hit to range (<5%) going from 20” factory to 18” aftermarket. Point being I’ve ordered 20” ones for my GT. I’ll report back on efficiency, but regardless, they are just awesome New England tires.

Oh, hey folks, I had Cross Climate 2s put on a few weeks ago. Love them. Definitely less noise than the OEM Pilots.

I think I'm seeing a range/efficiency hit but the mornings have also cooled considerably since I got them. Also, given that I charge every night, drive an average of 44 miles a day and have an ER battery, I've been driving faster too ??.

In town at sub 40 mph speeds, I still saw over 5mi/kWh though. I also got slightly wider tires; 235mm vs 225mm. Partly for better handling but also because I've always hated the MME's skinny tire look.

We've gotten no meaningful precipitation this season so I can't speak to how they handle that yet. I live on the side of a hill so I turn right and uphill getting out of my driveway (i.e. no "running" start momentum). I'm essentially hitting the street from a standstill. If the street is not plowed, I'm solely at the mercy of my tread, AWD and traction control.

My old FWD Acura TSX would get stuck on the hill constantly. I can go left and down and around the block if I have to but who wants to do that ?? I wanna plow up that snowy hill like it ain't no thang ?âť„ ??. Not looking forward to any blizzards but am sort of exciting to try the CC2'S out in less than ideal driving weather.

Been a minute :).

So I'm 16K in on the CC2s. They are amazing in the snow and wet BUT they are definitely less efficient than the OEM tires. Granted, I also went from a 225 to a 235 on the width. Why you ask? Because I hated the skinny tire look of the OEM tires lol.

However, I'm thinking of just sucking that up and returning to a 225 for my next set. I peppered both Copilot and Gemini (AI) with questions about tires for this car. It seems the best balance of efficiency, handling and snow traction is the Pirelli P Zero AS Pluses.

The CC2s are still considered a better snow tire but out of 365 days in a year, I might be driving on a snow covered road about 10-20 of those days. I'm not dealing with swapping between snow and AS tires each year so I want to settle on as much of a one size fits all solution as I can.

Has anyone had snow experience with the Pirellis?
