Rentals during recall service -- what loaner / rental did you get?

Hey guys,

Excited to finally join the Mach-E family. Got a great deal on a 2021 Premium AWD Extended Range. Car only has 20k miles and we were able to get the car for $21k with the used EV tax credit.

Here comes the fun part - the car has 7 recalls. Brought it to our local Ford dealership who said they were going to have to have the car for “a few weeks.”

Now we are rolling around in the 2024 Poverty Spec Toyota Corolla. Had me thinking, what type of rentals did you guys end up with?

That’s not too bad! Our dealership doesn’t do any loaners. They have a contract with Hertz and so our options were this or the Kia Soul….

Holy crap, do you know what all the recalls are? I'm wondering why the dealer didn't just take care of them when they received the vehicle. Maybe you didn't get it from a dealer though, so I probably just answered my own question lol.

I'm lucky to have zero dealership trips since I got my 2023 Premium, but if I did, I'd bring my RS out of storage to tool around in.

The funny thing is that the car has been sitting on two different Ford dealership lots for over 500 days. They were desperate to get rid of it and so we took the opportunity to use that as leverage for the selling price. We also have a 24 Civic SI so it wasn’t too big of a deal only having one car in the meantime. The only problem is that my wife is 8 months pregnant and we don’t have the same days off making us worried something would happen while she was off and couldn’t drive anywhere if needed. The Corolla will be a garage queen until we get the Mach-E back.

We actually had the service advisor take a picture of all the recalls as well!

Wow, and everything but the blue cruise module update is actual hardware fixes.

Post your VIN in the link below and see what other modules need updating. You can print it out and ask your dealer to run those updates as well so you're fully up to date after your long wait.

Yup, they're all service actions, so they should be covered.

I’m currently running around in a 2014 Chrysler 200 with 100k miles dealership loaner. They gave it to me with the gas light on and trash in the car. I’ve had it for 23 days now, it’s been swell.

Sorry you had to deal with all of that, but your price is great. I got a Bronco Sport for a loaner when they did my HVBJB.

I got an MME GT for the first week and then an MME premium for the next 6 weeks while they waited in parts to repair the repair.

Told ‘em didn’t want like for like, any roller skate would have done as I would rent a van if I needed to go to work when I had a loaner as I daren’t put all my tools in their nice new Stang in case I damaged it?
