Wondering if it’s still an issue after 2022…IT IS! I have not even had the car for a full month yet and it’s been at the dealer for nearly 3 of those weeks. The best part is they had the replacement HVBJB within the first week of me dropping it off! They only have one lift to complete the job apparently…so I wait…not so patiently at this point.

No loaner NADA.

Just an ongoing payment.

I received my new plates the other day but no car to put them on so they’re sitting on the kitchen table as I type this.

I thought this would have been fixed for ‘23s with it not being part of the recall. Surely they would have included this car in the recall if there was ANY CHANCE this known issue could claim another victim.

SURPRISE!

I’ve contacted FMC and no progress to report there either.

BUYER BEWARE!

Great car otherwise if actually driving it isn’t in your top 5 “must haves”.

Y’all have fun, I know I am.

The part was revised in late May of 2022. It was revised again in mid November of 2023. We know that the second generation part is problematic. The third generation part has so far shown a lower incidence of failure, but there have been a few. Since the 2024 GT uses the third generation part (along with other hardware upgrades) and has had its limiter relaxed to a point where the car can complete a quarter mile run, it indicates that Ford thinks the third generation part is better than our 1st and 2nd generation parts. ?‍♂?

The real question is if they have the part what is taking so long? It is only an 8 hr job. I would be calling your salesman, the service manager, and the BEV team number for assistance.

After my MME was in the shop for an extended length of time, the dealership helped me recoup the car payment cost for that time from ford. It’s worth a try! Also worth calling and seeing if they’ll extend your BC trial if you have one. I hope you get your care back soon and that’s the end of your trouble!

Hello, John. Could you please send us a PM with your VIN and the name and location of your Ford dealer? I'd be happy to see how I can assist you with this HVBJB concern.

I have a '23 GT built in May 2023 and my HVBJB gave out at about 6k miles. It died at 6pm when I tried to go to dinner. By the next morning it had killed the LVB. Ford service dept took several days to report back it was a bad LVB, even though I had just had that replaced 1 month before. I told them I read the OBD and it sounds like the HVBJB failure, but they said "codes are lost when LVB dies, so we can't formally determine it's a bad HVBJB until we can read those codes" Two days later it died again and service dept. was able to see the codes and do the replacement.

So I didn't have to wait 3 weeks, but it was in the shop for almost 2. Once they actually figured out the real issue, it only took like 3 days to fix.

Hopefully you can get yours fixed and back on the road. I love mine.

My GT was built in June 2023 also. I’ve have a lead foot and fast charged it at times. I must not be doing it right ? still waiting for the dreaded SSN warning.

Apologies if this has already been answered on the forum. Does Ford’s 8 year/100,000 mile battery warranty cover the HVBJB failure?

So quick update…nothing has changed. After the Social Media Rep reached out I explained the entire story to them and was then told continue working with the BEV specialist as they are in the best position to actually assist. So why did they reach out? I have NO idea. No one will tell me anything they just ask for my experience and make a note of it apparently.

So I’m back where I started and ABSOLUTELY NOTHING has changed. I still don’t have my car and have not learned anything additional. I have been doing all the talking as they nod and smile. Still don’t know when i will get it back. Wish me luck, obviously Im gonna need it. I never thought I would become one of “those” stories but here I am getting more and more frustrated by the day and they could not care any less. Thanks!
