Hope @Ford Motor Company can help because dealerships get preferred rental rates and should be able to help. I get it is for local rentals, but I hope they can figure something out.

My 2021 Mach E GT has been at the dealership for 32 days now. In September it quit taking a charge. I was told yesterday afternoon that it needs a new HVBJB part, but Ford has no update on when the part would arrive or the vehicle would be fixed.

Did they give you a rental or pay you back after you've rented?

No. Ford told me they would talk to me about a "goodwill gesture" after the car is fixed.

Did you get a case started with the BEV team and did your dealer order the part through COPIS? If they did not order the HVBJB through COPIS, it will never get there. If they did, it should be less than a week. ?‍♂?

I started a case with Ford's team at the end of September and they told me the part was expedited when they told me it was needed yesterday.

I just contacted the dealer, they said the part is still on backorder and hasn't shipped, Ford had said they were going to escalate and get it ordered, guess not.

the regular part order process will show this part backordered FOREVER.

Ask your Dealer to order thru the COPIS program, and you *should* have the part in 3-5 days. If they don't know what COPIS is, go to a different Dealership that does.

My car is stranded 500 miles away from me, I don't know if switching dealerships is an option lol.

If the part was not ordered thru COPIS, you will never get the part. If your Dealership doesn't know what the COPIS process is, contact @Ford Motor Company , get set up with a BEV case manager, and have them work with your dealership, or get your vehicle to the nearest Dealership certified to do the HVBJB replacement.

I guess you should work it thru Corporate and have THEM move it to a Dealership certified to do this Service. The tow and rental *should* be covered 100% if the case is handled thru the COPIS process. If you don't have a case manager yet, PM @Ford Motor Company and get one!

Looks like it was ordered correctly but has not shipped yet. Nothing new about rental, sounds like its on a dealer to handle it.

I thought Ford would pay for a rental car in a situation like this, as long as you weren't at the dealer already. At the dealership it's the dealer's responsibility, though I also understand this "responsibility" often isn't honored.

I dealt with Fords roadside first, they understood that I was stranded on a Saturday night away from home. They tried to help me out but the best they could do is get the car to a dealership that opened on Monday. They said the rental had to be taken care of by the dealership which makes sense since they have to see if something is actually wrong with the car first. The timing just really made the whole thing worse lol.

I don’t understand why @Ford Motor Company isn’t getting you set up with a rental.

If this is a scare tactic to sell Ford ESP with the rental option, it’s a good one.
