Cracks between lugs. Almost 11k miles. Plenty of tread otherwise.

That looks like the Summer UHP tire. It isn’t even rated to be stored at 40°F. Driving a Summer tire in cold weather will damage it. Likewise, because they are ultra soft, they don’t have a long tread life. Several members got less than 10K miles on theirs. I think @scoopman has the record at 4K miles. ??

Have you actually measured the tire tread (with a tool or at least a quarter) at several spots around your tires? It's hard to tell from a single photo but those look a little worn to me.

not sure what i am supposed to see here
Zoom in, you can see cracks in the rubber.

To the OP, city driving wears the tires MUCH faster than highway.

My stock GTPE tires only lasted 11k miles before they were totally bald. All city driving and in Florida (warm).

I did an alignment and rotation at 6k and still wore completely out.

Here they were at 10k miles-

Damn, I got 50K out of my OEM set, and mine looked better than those when I replaced them. ?

On the MME and most modern cars tire wear has a lot to do with how heavy your right foot is.

You also don’t have a GTPE, don’t have summer tires and likely have a lot of highway mileage.

My daily commute to work is 1 mile. So lots of turning and driving in parking lots. My tire wear has always been super high on my cars. My last car (Chevy SS sedan) tires were just as bald at 16k miles.

I don’t see cracks. I see ripping since you’re down to lower layers of the rubber.

You have to remember that your Premium came with regular tires and the GT-PE comes with Summer UHP tires. The Summer tires are lucky to get to 20K miles if driven like Grandma on a relaxed Sunday drive. Totally different scenario. ??

@Mach1E provided photos of his own tires for comparison. OP’s photo is post #15. ??

It boils down to the Summer tires having been driven below their usable temperature window (cracks) and the tires wearing very quickly because they are Summer UHPs (pretty normal wear, and better wear than a lot of us got out of our OE Summer tires). ?‍♂?

I have almost 13k on my GTPE Pirellis and they have tons of tread left. I was hoping they would wear out by this winter so I could swap on some all seasons.

I just got one tire replaced under warranty because I had a vibration since new and the dealer couldn't get it to balance. Joke's on them (and me), the new one isn't very balanced either and the vibration is still there.
