We’ve recently bought another Mach E for my wife (2024 Premium in Eruption Green with bronze package —I’m green with envy), but there’s one problem with it: the weatherstripping on the drivers side roof trim was shredded from day one. Our dealer acknowledged this as something covered under warranty, and we (perhaps optimistically) agreed to take it home and bring it back when they got the replacement part.
But it turns out that our dealer is reporting having trouble ordering the replacement part. It’s been over a month now, and it’s not clear that we’re any closer to getting the part in.
As you can see in the photos, the weatherstripping is completely missing between the frame and the piano black roof trim on the driver’s side nearly up to the back of the drivers side window. There’s also a spot where it’s got a hole in the weatherstrip above the rear drivers side window.
The car is otherwise fantastic, we love our Mach E’s. I remain optimistic that this is something my dealer will eventually fix, but I’m starting to get concerned, living as I do in Northern California, about the approach of the rainy season. How bad is this going to be when the rains come? Do I tell my wife that her car is a fair-weather pony?
