NACS Adapter Ship Date of September 2024 Delayed to January 2025 (Update: This Was An Error by Ford)

Ford really mishandled this one.

The adapters are being manufactured by Tesla. And someone fired most of the team responsible for them. So, while there are plenty of issues you can blame Ford about, I don't see this being one of them.

Mine was showing ship out September till yesterday. Now I’m at January. Wild. With all the great news of more adapters being made I was not expecting this at all.

My number is FAE:90095800 with an estimated ship date 10/24. Purchased my MACHE 4/24. I Highly doubt I will see mine this year. I pulled the trigger on one from Ebay. ill just sell one of them when I get mine from FORD.

My order was February 29, 2024. Was originally scheduled for May, then July, then Aug, then Sept and now January 2025 like everyone else. It will indeed be at least a full year before I see the adapter. My number is in the 26k region. Welp.

The Canadian numbers can't be used to determine timelines, i.e. no one in Canada has been shipped. So a 14,XXX number in Canada not being shipped until January tells you nothing, in the US they got over 18,XXX already.

To Rick's point, I'm in Canada with reservation #977 and it now says January 2025 for me....

I’m not really in immediate need of it, but it’s a bummer not having the option. I know I’ll definitely need one come winter when we lose power a lot and there’s a new Tesla Supercharger just 15 minutes away.

Yes. The important test though is what Tesla thinks of the third party adapters. So far, so good.

Tesla approved GM testing of the Lectron adapter and updated there terms to include "adapters approved by OEMs". This is one reason GM took longer to get access to Tesla chargers.

Honestly, at this point I’d be inclined to buy the a2z or Lectron and be done with it. There are discount codes in various locations.

Same here, id like mine before winter when we will inevitably lose power and ill need to use the super charger about 15 minutes away.

it's wild because I picked up my car 11 days ago and requested mine while sitting in the car with the salesman. I just now checked mine and it still shows "November, 2024". I'm guessing I'll be well into Mar, Apr, or May?
