2024 should have the corrected software. That was verified when the 2024s came out a few months ago. Can you share a pic?
When. I went to take a photo I noticed I had lane assist turned on. When Iturned it off the MPH indicator went back to the center with a little display of a car sideways on the far left. Only had it for 2 weeks - learning?.

Whew. On good. That’s what I figured, but I didn't want to assume. If you put it in unbridled, you get a really nice animation when you accelerate.

There is a somewhat different solution as well apparently. Buy a 2024.
They (Ford) seem to use that for a bunch of fixes lately. I might buy a 26, when they fix all the issues by removing all the features.

1 step forward, 2 back.

So far the best version of the Mach-E was the job 2 2021s.

Centering the speedometer is surely a simple fix that all of us want. @Ford Motor Company why is this taking so long?!

It seems to take a year+ to fix a buggy OTA update. This update has been going out OTA since November of last year, so the fix could still be working its way through the pipeline. The reality is, it’s probably not a priority for them and it probably won’t get fixed until they NEED to push out an update to the IPC module.

Stuff like this is the biggest reason I’d consider not purchasing Ford for my next car.

Reality is nothing is a priority for them. They’re trying to push us into disposable consumption. Not sure about the rest of you but I’m not throwing away $30k every 2 years to get a working map or door button panels that arnt cracked (all 4 of mine are cracked again, lasted about 3 months) or karaoke..

Since I turned on every safety feature before I left the dealership when I picked up my 21 j1 I never saw the speedometer in the middle. But I am wondering if any of the great legal minds on this forum have an opinion if a car whose software (safety feature)has been modified gets in an accident and someone dies, even if the modification had nothing to do with the cause of the accident, is there a liability?

I miss the unbridled animation so much ?. It’s minor, but I agree this is one of those details that will likely prevent me from buying another ford.

Not everybody wants it. Some prefer it as it is now, others couldn't possibly care less. As for how long to fix it, that presumes it was broken. As I recall, the timing of the push to the current configuration was unintentional but the result (off-centered speed) was not. Plus there were a few issues during the 1.3 push that needed quick correction.

It really shows a lack of attention to software development.

The good news is, the old way gave you the option to have it centered or not. It should go back to the way where you had a choice. More choice is always better than less choice.

Yup. I'm not one of the folks that like it as it currently exists on my 2021.

Sorry I didn’t mean to imply you didn’t. I realize what I said could have come across that way.

If you can validate whether or not the button still works that will answer the BC question too.
Tested today, it appears that now the lane assist button on the steering wheel does nothing. Adaptive cruise control still appears to work as expected.

Interesting. Do you get the same round blue bubble around the car?
