I got it to work and seems to be a bit better to my ear. Thanks for posting this.

I am curious though my next 4 numbers after F511 are 8012 and yours are 8002. Did you change something else? I tried to look at the Forscan MME spreadsheet but do not see a tab for DSP, although I see you have a pic of it? And it looks like those spaces are --, not xx, so does that mean they don't do anything?
Difference in the check digits, so doesn't do anything.

I am surprised that top audiophile companies allow their brand to be associated with mediocre performance automotive installations. My B&O system is nothing special, and prior experience with other supposed top names has been similar. Marketing at its worst!?

Harman owns most of these brands now and does a large % of OEM car audio, it is pretty much all just branding when it comes to the main stream a lot of time it being little more than manufactures going in with a price point for a system and then having one the brand logos they want to be associated with slapped on it.

In all fairness, what we pay for the audiophile branding in a mass production vehicle wouldn't buy a single shelf speaker from the same brand.

The B&O "Unleashed" in the F150 gets all the hype you can expect, with its silly 18 speaker architecture. I mean there are speakers all over the cabin in my KingRanch Powerboost. But the price for the option was something equally silly like ~$800(?)

I've been in someone's BMW and the system was fairly stunning for oem. The buddy admitted it was something like a $3500 option. (again, old man's recall?)

And there are other European vehicles with audio options ranging much higher in price. $7000+

The Mach-E B&O is enjoyable enough to get me and the grandkids singing and acting fools. But it's nothing audiophile, nor did Ford charge me enough for me to expect more from it. I DO wish Ford had audio options that were expensive enough to actually get a well equipped entertainment experience. Would be so convenient compared to aftermarket efforts to accomplish the same.

B&O (automotive, not home) is owned by Harman and has been for nearly a decade. Harman owns dozens of audio brands... and in the automotive space sells to just about everybody. The point being, is that B&O (Harman) is more than capable of blowing your socks off in audio terms... it just depends on your budget. The MME budget... isn't quite adequate to do that.

The stock B&O system in the MME is actually fairly flat and fairly low distortion (which is a good thing from an audio quality perspective)... You might be surprised what a real subwoofer will do for making the whole thing sound "better".

I've thrown a lot of (deserved) shade on Tesla, but the audio system in my Y is one of the best OEM systems I have heard... I wish the MME sound budget was similar.

Perhaps your ears are just not sensitive enough to pick up the minute differences that B&O intended.....or it's just marketing crap.

I'll place my bet on the latter especially when it comes to OEM audio.
From my perspective, these mustangs are marketed (correctly given market timing imho) at boomer / late boomer / early X who would be willing to spend on an EV while there's a price premium, AND have decaying auditory capacity.

I'd be adding more snake oil to that part of the bill of materials, if I was on the product team, and skip the actual technology.

That being said, I went for the Premium trim partially because of the seats, and partially because of the sound. The B&O system is highly tolerable and in-line with the Tesla sound system.

Given that people are OK with compressed audio and streaming services in the first place, "not a bag of suck" seems good enough for car audio. Again IMHO.

After enabling it (much more dynamic sound btw), and given the date of that press statement, I suspect this was what was intended from day one, but software development lagged the release of the car. Ford (if the hardware is there) should figure out a way to enable for all non-2024 cars. The audio impression/sound will be better than what the 3 level equalizer provides. I know they won’t, but they should.

I tried this on a platinum Lightning and the buttons appear. However they do not respond when pressed. Waited a few minutes did a few reboots. Do i need to check the version of the software of the APIM or DSP? If so how do you see that from forscan? Thanks!

This does not work on 21-23 F150 or Lightnings.

I enabled the Beosonic EQ in my '22 last fall but it didn't seem to do anything. I thought I was pretty up-to-date on my software updates, but figured I didn't have the right APIM or DSP module update yet. Any chance I'll get the module update for the one I may be missing OTA? I just got the latest ECG update today, so I am hoping to get System Update 10.1.x in the next few days.

Since it’s third-party software, it may be that Ford only paid the license fee for its new car production.
This is exactly it, the code/feature is licensed by for per vehicle.

I can report that 10.1.0 by itself did not enable the Beosonic color EQ to do anything in my Mach-E. :p
