If this is true, I wonder if there will be any option to retrofit older MME's with the hitch, wiring harness, and any software tweaks that might come with adding the towing package. Even if it's not available as a retrofit, this is a feature that will have me more tempted to upgrade, though I still don't think I will for 3-5 years at minimum.

This is totally wrong. Specs for the 2024 Mach-E haven’t been released yet. Towing is not approved in the USA. If Ford approved towing in the US, they would give a round towing figure like 2000 lbs, not 2205 lbs.

The people that make these dumb videos just search google for everything and don’t fact check.

The Euro weight limit is 1500kg or 3307lbs. 2205 lbs is 1000kg. So probably a EU source, maybe?

Yeah they were saying the 1000 kg European limit was the US limit. It started out at 1000 kg in Europe before Ford increased it to 1500 kg, so an old source.

But to be serious for a minute…. I just ordered a tow hitch and wiring kit for my 2023 MME two days ago.

I have towed with almost every vehicle I have owned. This goes back to 68 horsepower diesel Mercedes, 128 horsepower Scion xD, and up to my most recent FIAT 500 and my Chevy Bolt EV. Never had a problem towing with any of them.
