I notice things like that. ?

Three more changes I added to my previous list:
The front driver and passenger doors no longer have door lock actuators (doors aren't pushed open), interior power liftgate switch (on liftgate trim panel) was removed, and no noise insulation padding on the inside of any of the door panels.
What do you mean regarding the doors? I have a 24 premium and the doors work fine and I think are pretty cool, but not sure what's different since I've never opened anything else. Thanks.

Hey Michael, your back doors have the lock actuators where when you open the door, they push it open 2" and hold it there for you to grab the door and open it up. The front doors used to have those same actuators but no longer do and they really aren't required for the front doors since they have a grab handle to open them with.

On the original car there is a push rod that extends out from the car when you push the door button. That forces the door to open up about a a few finger widths worth. It also prevented anyone from slamming the door shut on your fingers, at least until you open the door a bit more. It works well although the most common failure, according to the forums anyway, was the rod failing to retract thus possibly preventing you from closing the door.

Apparently, that system is gone now. A shame.

Oh, and here’s one that I’m sure YOU will find particularly annoying - they’ve removed the windshield wiper defroster (basically a mini-electric grid where the wipers park so that they don’t ice up).
Well …. that’s a huge … uh …. what’s ice?

The front doors pop open because there is enough pressure when they are latched up against the rubber door seals.

Not sure if the sound insulation behind the door panels actually did much since the window regulator completely seals the door from any inner noise coming into the door panel area. That said, I added insulation back in that area when I sound deadened the inner parts of the doors.
What about the rear doors? Did they remove the presenters for those as well?

The windshield's are still acoustic (SoundScreen) glass at least through the '24 model year. Not sure what they are doing yet for '25's but I would hope they keep that glass as it really does quiet down the wind and road noise from coming through the windshield.

The front driver and passenger windows in the lower trims were changed from a "Laminated" (SoundScreen) to "Tempered" (non-SoundScreen) I think back in '22 or '23 but I really don't remember. They are still Laminated (SoundScreen) in the Premium and GT models for '24. If one wanted to replace the front doors with SoundScreen windows, OEM price is around $350 but you can get them on eBay used in near perfect shape for around $200. Just make sure it has the word "Laminated" instead of "Tempered". The rear door windows were never SoundScreen.
Thanks! I thought I read on here a long time ago that the SoundScreen windshield was done away with. Appreciate the clarification.

No they can’t unless Ford adds a handle like the front doors. With no handle you need up be able to have room to grab the inside of the door and without your hand getting crushed. The lock actuators push the rear doors open a 2 full inches.

Hey Mark, in your opinion, is replacing the front door windows a worthy upgrade?

In your experience, is there a discernable difference between the laminated and tempered glass with regard to wind and road noise?

I think one of the most curious things about the door presenters is that there is no mechanical switch they withdraw using an accelerometer open the door really slowly and you can then take a peek at them.

Hey Josh, my personal opinion is it's not a big enough difference to spend the money replacing the glass. I have tried to measure the sound difference between the two since mine has the laminated up front and tempered in the rear and there is maybe a 1db difference but it's still hard to tell since the rear is not the same area of the car as the front. Now, the windshield is a definite difference. I had a 2007 F-150 with the SoundScreen and it was very quiet for years then after I had the windshield replaced, they did not replace it with a SoundScreen and to me it was almost night and day. I went back and had them replace them (Safelite) replace it with the proper one and I got my quiet truck back.

You would achieve a slightly quieter interior by sound deadening the doors than replacing the front door windows. I sound deadened every one of my cars and trucks since 1990 when dynamat first came out. However the main reason I do it is NOT for a quieter interior but for better audio from the sound system. No speaker manufacture anywhere builds a speaker system in a metal vibrating, echoing enclosure. Worst sound ever. Once you Dynamat the inside of the outer door skin to stop any vibrations then apply closed cell Dynaliner over the Dynamat it's removes all rear speaker echo and you have a much better sounding system. Just realized I am rambling on here.... ?

Jim, on an earlier post last week I mentioned that the '24 GT's and Premium's front driver and passenger windows were still acoustic (laminated). This was because when I was with my friend in AZ shopping for a new GT which he purchased, his car has laminated front windows. WELL, I purchased a '24 GT yesterday and after I got it home was shocked to find out my windows are tempered. They are NOT acoustic. Joe's '24 was built in June, mine was built last month in October. Just one more thing they changed.
