I just got this email today just after 9 AM PST. I drove into work at 7 AM using PaaK with no issues. I haven't tried again since the message.

Edit: I just noticed the message says Android 14 specifically and not Android 14 or later. Since I'm on Android 15 (Pixel 7 Pro) this issue may not impact me or others on new version of Android.

I got the email as well but do not use PAAK. I ended up disabling PAAK back when it was flaky as it was easier for me to leave the house without the key fob. I suppose I could setup the codes and try it again.

i use PAAK on android 14 and it has been perfectly fine... i tried it again just now.

not gloating -- does anyone know what the actual root of the issue is? i want to understand so i know if/when/how i can expect issues on my phone...

I believe it has to do with the December security update for Samsung phones. I have a Samsung S22+ and I was good as of this morning. But I see my phone is scheduling a security update on Saturday morning, and I'm guessing that's where the problem will be for me.

December security is when it broke for me on my S24+. Nearly stranded myself cause I wasn't reading the forums and thought deleting and readding might fix it. Turns out it doesn't and removing PAAK also deletes the backup password. Luckily if you disable and reenable bluetooth it works for like 30 seconds, or at least long enough to start the car and put it in gear.

got samsung update this morning and went to start car prior to reading this. Did not work multiple times....
Attempted to delete and reinstall. No Go.
Using key for now.

Android 14 on a Motorola RAZR+ 23, and no issues thus far - but only on the November security update.

Moto runs pretty-close-to-stock Android, so not sure if the various Android variants might be at a higher risk than others.

I believe it has to do with the December security update for Samsung phones. I have a Samsung S22+ and I was good as of this morning. But I see my phone is scheduling a security update on Saturday morning, and I'm guessing that's where the problem will be for me.

i received the security update already (installed 2 days ago) and it's still working... s21

Would be interesting if you could look if you also are still on the November security update.

I had the same thing happen. Installed an update like first week of December and then got this one with the December security patch a few days later and it broke PAAK.
