On our first trip in our new Ford Mustang Mach-E Premium AWD Extended range, we were looking for a DC fast charger we could charge up.

We used the route planning built into the car. Unfortunately, it guided use to a site where the charger was not active. This was located at a Road Ranger located at 775 TX-179, Teague, TX 75860. This location would be really great if the charger was actually working and the folks who run the location advised us that whomever is doing the commissioning has been frustrated in trying to activate the charger.

We are not sure who to report this to at Ford. So, please let me know in a reply.

One of the easiest ways to get info back to Ford is to use the Record Feedback button in the car. You can access it in the app drawer in the car as seen in our video at the 13 1/2 minute mark:

Plugshare is a useful resource. I will keep that in mind in the future.

Does Ford use Plugshare?

First trips in an EV can be memorable.

I take it you made it to another charger?
Yes, we went back to a working Electrify America at 425 Interstate 45 Frontage Rd, Fairfield, Texas, USA, 75840. Ford Plug and Charge worked perfectly there and we got home just fine after that. Now, we did find one Electrify America that was being repaired at a WalMart in Ennis,Texas we wanted to use on our way up to Dallas, but had to settle for a working EvGo site in Dallas.

Good.
Sounds like the drama was at a fair minimum.

This forum is loaded with EV travel gurus with tons of great advice. (I'm not one of them)

You might want to download “A Better Route Planner”. Set it up for the Mach-e and play around with it a bit. Use it along with PlugShare to plan your route and vet the chargers. Or use PlugShare in combination with the native nav alone.

Interesting. I know that site. I've never stopped there to charge, but I've driven by a few times and I had looked at it on PlugShare. I checked PlugShare just now and that site is no longer listed.

I've charged at the Fairfield EA site several times with no issues although since I received my NACS adapter, I've used the nearby Tesla SuperChargers since they were cheaper than EA ($.47 vs. $.56/kWh)

That's a Freewire charger (charges cars off a built-in battery pack), this is sad but the company went out of business earlier this year. So that charger will probably never work again. What a waste.

They should turn it into an ATM.
