Looks like Ford is finally shipping the announced Lectron adapters. Just got mine today. It feels solid and well built like the A2z Typhoon Pro.

Order Number: 90040xxx
Order Placed: 3/1/24

*EDIT* Just to add I purchased this case from Amazon that seems to best fit this adapter. https://a.co/d/93O38jm

Once I get it I'll post an update.

Sorry to do this but my experience with receiving the free / complimentary NACS to CCS adapter was as good as a lot of other people on this site.

I have a 2021 Job 1 Mach-E Premium Extended Range AWD delivered on 06-Mar-2021.

I ordered my NACS to CCS adapter on 29-Feb-2024 with an order % of 90025###.

On 11-Nov-2024, after numerous e-mails that the adapter was delayed I finally got an e-mail that my adapter had shipped with a link to FexEx to track the deliver. With Thanksgiving approaching I decided to wait for it to arrive. My assumption was that it would be coming FedEx Ground and would take a week or two before it arrived.

On 04-Dec-2024 I checked the FedEx site and checked the status. The package was accepted by FedEx on 13-Nov-2024 in Romulus, MI. There were no further status updates. As such, I called Ford Battery Electric Vehicles to find out what the the status was. I spoke with Chelsea and got a Case # CXH03074###. She said she was going to escalate the case and find out what happened.

I waited until 17-Dec-2024 and called FBEV to again check on the status. This time I spoke with Emily and she gave me another Case # CXH03209### and indicated that the case was being elevated but that I would receive my adapter within two (2) weeks.

Well, this morning I called again and got nowhere with the Customer Support Representative. I asked to speak with a supervisor and apparently they were too busy and would contact me within 24 hours. Surprisingly, I did get a callback about an hour later and was told that since it is a COMPLIMENTARY adapter that I would just have to wait my turn and they would check on it and an advocate would get back to me.

I seem to have fallen into a black hole and Ford doesn't seem concerned at all.

@FPLiptak, sorry to hear about your issues. Have you tried calling FedEx to see if they can track the package for you? It sounds like it got lost at one of the distribution centers.

Yes, their response was that they do not know what happened to the package. Ford also contacted FedEx and got the same response.

Well, the suspense is over. It arrived today. Number 40956, ordered March 1. Seems like they are still mostly shipping them in sequential order.

I'll look for a place to store it. I'll probably never use the damn thing.

I just got my replacement yesterday and like others it is the Tesla version. It is likely a safe assumption that replacements will be Tesla ones and everything else is likely to be a mix of Lectron and Tesla.

I also got my replacement for the Typhoon as well. Interestingly enough they didn’t provide any details as to what to do with the old part. Ford gave instructions and a label to ship back the old one.

The photos look a lot like the Lectron Vortex with the Ford script logo on the side instead of Lectron’s logo. The scuttlebutt was that the new adapter was engineered by Ford and Lectron built them. It leads one to wonder if there are substantive changes to this adapter or if they’re simply re-branded Vorticies. ??
Tom on the State of Charge YT channel did a breakdown, seems like they are similar with a few tweaks.

Just received my replacement for the recalled ford adapter yesterday and it’s identical to the recalled one. Did not receive the Lectron one.

Referring to my earlier post with photo of the adapters in the Casematix binocular case: The black fast charger adapter does not have any logo but came in a Ford box.. Assuming it's stealth Tesla. It shows (P) 1434343-20-D and (S) GF22422900009P. Assuming that's the part and serial numbers. It's 4 3/4 in x 3 7/8 in x 2 1/2 in. The white one has a Lectron logo and is approx 8 in x 3 in x 2 in.

When I place my order for my original free NACS adapter, I had no idea when it was going to arrive. After months, still nothing. I was going on a road trip and I wanted to have an adapter so I ordered one from A2Z. One month later, it showed up on my doorstep, 1 day before my trip. The next day I get a message from Ford that they are shipping my adapter and it arrived three or four days later.

Several months down the line I get a message from Ford that my adapter is being recalled. I put my information in and again. I have no idea when I’m getting my replacement adapter. Months go by and still nothing.

Just after that A2Z Recalls its adapter. I fill out the paperwork and after about 3 to 4 weeks, I get a message that they are shipping my adapter. The day after my A2Z adapter Arrives I get a notification from FedEx that a package is shipping from Dearborn, Michigan to my house. And today my adapter from Ford shows up. And it just happens that I am going on a road trip in two days.

On a sidenote, I am one of the owners that has not received an OTA update since August 2023. So I bought the hardware and an FDRS license and fully updated my car in august 2024. Two days later I received an OTA update, this was in September, and I have not received another update since then, but I did receive one fairly useless update. It was an update from Feb 2024. BEV and Connectivity team say I have nothing scheduled even though they both agree that I don’t have any of the latest updates, BC, karaoke, Tesla P/C, etc…

So the moral of the story is, If you really need something from Ford. Buy it from someone else or Ford and your free unit will come from Ford a day or two later.

And yes, my Ford replacement adapter is the one made by Tesla, which I really don’t like because the release switch almost guarantees you will be throwing your adapter into the parking lot when you try to remove it. It will find its way into my wife’s bolt because she will only need it in an absolute emergency.

Happy new year everyone!

I can empathize with you my friend. I have similar problems with home delivery pizza.
