Mach-E Fast Charging Tesla Adapters Start Shipping TODAY Per Ford!

I am order #153. The package was due today between Noon and 3 PM. It was not delivered and the Fedex Delivery Manager indicated it could not be delivered (I had Fedex delivered here before with no problem). The text message just said the package was delayed. I went to the Fedex place after the time mentioned to pick it up. The counter person checked the tracking number and the truck was not back yet. It turns out the truck was back, but the driver did not check in properly. It took about 1/2 hour to find it as the driver put it in the wrong place. If I did not pick it up the counter person said a couple more once-a-day delivery attempts would be made. But I wonder if it would end up being lost due to it being misplaced. I went to a nearby V3 Supercharger after shopping and it worked great.

In the second pic you can actually see the grey latch button peaking through the gap.

Of course, it is made by Tesla, they are famous for panel gaps.

But it also feels kinda cheaply made. There are a number of small “panel gaps” in the plastic housing, and the plastic can be pushed around a bit.

Got my adapter on Sunday and was near a Tesla Supercharger today in Towson MD so I thought I would give it a try.

Pulled into the first bay as I would be away from the cars charging and thought it would be good to be on the end. There were 3-4 cars charging when I started.

Process was easy. Plugged in and we were off to the races. Got about 90kW coming to my MachE...was hoping for more. Saw on PlugShare that someone else with a MachE was there last night and got 150kW.

As the 8 bays stared to fill up, I noticed that I was really taking up 2 spots as the Teslas back in and use the by to the right and I was using the one to the left. Fortunately I was just testing and went from 60% to 80% in 20 minutes. Cost was .23/kW. Would have moved if another Tesla showed up, but that didnt happen. FWIW it said it would have charged to 100% by 6:34a. Not a chance as I unplugged at 6:32a when it was at 80% and the charging rate dropped to 36kW.

All in all a decent experience, but I did expect faster charging. It will be nice to have the Tesla network as an option, especially in PA where there are very few CSS stations.

It may have been faster if you were able to precondition the HVB first. Hopefully we will get an update that corrects that.

Received my adapter yesterday and went out and charged. It worked great. Connection with plug and charge was fast. So nice to have so many chargers available. Thank you Ford.

It would be great if everyone who notifies the rest of us that they received their adapters would also include their order number. That gives the rest of us a sense of how close we're getting to our turn.

Haven’t received any software updates for my 22’ GT since October 23’.
My adapter doesn’t ship until July but it’d be pretty concerning if I get the adapter and still don’t have any updates by then to actually use it.

I've gotten the sense that if you were under ~#1000 you've gotten your adapter or at least on its way. Other then the folks with #8xxx who mistakenly were shipped adapters early, the other 80,000+ of us are still waiting.

Hello, I too purchased the Mach E but on March 23 and have not been able to reserve the adapter. I have kept trying multiple times but have not been successful so I went ahead and purchased the A2Z adapter. I read that it takes time for Ford to activate all the different accounts but everything in my Ford Pass and Connected Services is working. I called customer service and they said to keep trying, but it shouldn't be this difficult?? Have you heard anything else or were you able to order it yet?

I logged in today and the connected services page took about 5 mins to load and the reservation link finally popped up. Order # 89,715, estimates ship date September.

The update is not required for you to use the adapter. The update enables plug and charge. You can use the adapter today, if you had it.
