Is this hollow spot to the right of your feet? Left side, like in the door? Under the seat somewhere?

Just curious. I recently got my adapter from Ford, and need someplace to stick it.

I see. I guess I'd need the right size case to make that work without the thing rattling around. Thanks.

would you be willing to share the the stp file for this? I currently have a 3D printed center console organizer, and would love to revamp it to also have this holder.

After I received the NACS adapter from Ford, I was trying to find the best place to store it. I wanted to keep it in the center console for easy access, but it is so heavy, it kept sliding around in there and it bugged me every time I heard it “thunk” around. So I designed a holder that keeps it secured nicely in the console.

It is designed to minimize the space taken up in the console by holding the adapter upside down vertically against the slope of the back wall of the console. It fits perfectly in my 21 Mach E and “should” fit in later models, but I haven’t fit tested any others.

Here is the link to the file on Thingiverse if you would like to print your own. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6896805

Very interesting. I just received my NACS Adapter from Ford a couple of weeks ago and it does not look anything like what you have (see photos) And it is too long to fit across the back wall of my center console. So, while I appreciate your offer that design won't work for me.

I'd love to hear if anyone has any holder designs that would work with my style adapter for a 2021 MME.

Wow good catch! I got mine in yesterday and was queuing up this model this morning without even opening the box XD. I went ahead and put together something simple.

https://makerworld.com/en/models/1019802

I was originally going to build in more support for the adapter but after printing out a rough draft figured this was probably good enough to hold it without rattling. I'm going to run this PLA version until it's warm again. I'll probably make a V2 of this once it's warm enough to print ASA/ABS.

PS @miguelmix you might want to avoid the first model for production, seems like that version of the adapter is getting recalled in favor of these big chunky ones.

So after much deliberation on which path to follow for securing my new NACS Adapter, I decided that most options presented take up space I currently use which would be inconvenient.

But then I stumbled onto a location that I rarely, if ever, use...the driver side rear door well. On a hunch I put the adapter in there and viola...it fits nearly perfectly. It was a little loose and I was concerned it might rattle too much when driving. So, improvising I found a small piece of thin bubble wrap...problem solved. Ultra low-cost solution. I will trim the bubble wrap to make it look a little nicer...but you get the idea. See included photos.

aren't you a little afraid it will flop out of the door at some point? I mean it does have a good "weight" but still my anxiety overrides any kind of science in "this" regard

I have the Lectron adapter and use an old outdoor research water bottle cozy, tossing it in the storage bin under the cell phone charge mat area.
