The lease comes do on the mach e on Feb 7. We love the car, have 45,800 miles on it, never had any problems. We leased it three years ago thinking that there would be enough changes in the 2025 edition to make it worthwhile to exchange for that and a new Lease. Right now, the Kelley Blue Book lists an average price for our car of around $22,500 for a trade in and around $27,500 if sold to a private person. The final lease pay out is $25,000. What I am reading on the boards here is that it doesn’t seem that the 2025 mach e has that many changes, but I haven’t looked extensively.

Among many possibilities, one is to buy out the lease and trade if for a 2026 next year. Money is not an issue either way.

I would appreciate any opinions on this. Plus there may be other options I am not considering.

You really need to run the numbers for each scenario, but it's likely you would benefit the most from turning in your current lease, and getting a new lease on a leftover 24 or a new 25. There are still a ton of good lease incentives on these models. I would bet your current lease terms are pretty poor compared to what is available now. If your dealer is trustworthy, they can help you compare all the numbers. Good luck!

so many variables. BUT I would say quite a number of differences in the 25 model, improved hvjb, updated drive motors, changes in the cooling system. Plus it'll have the latest software, 21s have been kind of neglected in software updates. Plus the pricing is amazing on the cars. YOu can get a GTPE for around 58K(before negotiation), which is 10k less than I paid for my GT 1.5 years ago.

Well if you have $25k lying around and are done with car payments, just buy it out.

No car payments is a good feeling especially if you do not care about the latest and greatest.

The current lease is ending, so current lease terms no longer matter. Except for the $25,000 payoff amount.

I have a similar decision coming up later this year. I plan to pay off the old car and keep it, unless I find a really great deal on a 2025 Rally.

Did you do Ford Options or an actual traditional lease?

It matters for comparative purposes, to see how much better the lease deals are now, vs what he had.

I doubt you can get a 2025 by Feb 7th, but you might get a great deal on a 2024. I would hurry up and grab one off the lot in case any cash incentives are pulled.

As another alternative, call Ford Credit and ask what rate to refinance the buyout for 3 years.

My 2024 lease came with a $11,500 instant rebate
Plus you get another 3 year bumper to bumper warranty ….. which is expensive to buy
My 24 premium X buyout will be 24k
I would likely get a new lease if the numbers look good.

Thanks for all the helpful replies. I am checking the rates/deals for a refinance. Our present lease is at 2.49% intrerest for the 3 years which ends next week. One response suggested that there may be enough small changes in the 2025 model to suggest that buying that one would be worthwhile…so I am leaning in that direction. However, finding one with the color and other things we would like within the next 7 days seems optimistic.

I suppose one option is to refinance the balloon payment, order one we would like, and when it came, simply pay of the lease early, and trade It in for a new one. Or transfer it to Ford credit and buy a new one (although you may not be able to do that except at the end of the lease).

So just so I am clear…you got a 2024 vehicle that came with a lease that had a $11,500 instant rebate? Seems really good. What was the interest rate? I am looking at lease deals at the moment…

The cap is 3.6%
nothing down $540 per month with 10,500 miles per year
24k buyout at end if I want and no extra fee for the buyout ….i told them to get rid of that $495 end of lease fee.
has the x battery, $995 paint, the weather tech style ford mats including trunk mat, portable dual level charger.

I got $15K off cap cost on my '24 lease; some from Ford, some from dealer. There are really good lease deals on '24's if you look around, but inventory is drying up quickly.
