This particular station had a curb next to it so I don’t think I could’ve gotten the nose of the car close enough without hitting the curb (or scraping the car against the charger - a risk I definitely wasn’t going to take for an experimental charge!).
It sounds like I had a v3 charger. How do I distinguish v3 from v4 stations? Does PlugShare include that or do I need to get the Tesla app?
The curb should be no issue at that location, the nose will go right over it. I assume they've removed the red sign bollards since the last photo was taken. You should take an updated photo for Plugshare.This was the station:

V3 stations with short cables will take many years to get replaced, we have to get comfortable pulling the nose over the curb and getting close if we want to use the vast majority of Superchargers. It's a non-issue after you get used to using them a few times.
