Theoretically, shouldn’t matter, because 12v batt charges whether plugged in, driving, unplugged in garage or whatever so long as HVB is over a certain percentage charge.

Have a look at attached from page 4, very interesting!
That document says it is not charged until it has been down to 40% for 48 hours when the car is not on. I don't believe it is good for a battery to be discharged to that level in cold weather on a regular basis.

That was the original strategy in 2021. I believe Mach-Lee has said in other posts the strategy has been updated.

Aye, it has been updated, to a variation on the theme. Seem to recall the percentages changed.

My 2021 MME First Edition was built in late December 2020 and I took delivery in early April. The car was held for just over 2 months in a dessert location in the US due to a recall they needed to complete on all First Editions. My 12 Volt battery works very well and I am located on Ontario Canada with cold winters. I do keep the car in the garage at night and plug in the 240Volt to keep battery pack topped up to 90%.

It depends on how it charges while driving. If it keeps the battery more 'topped off' (90%-ish?) while driving, this should keep the battery in better health vs. sitting around a lot hovering in the 40-50% range before the vehicle charges it.

Wife’s car is a November or December 2020 build date. Picked it up February 2021. Was supposed to be a manikin car. She also has 63K.
Also on the original LVB.

“Manikin car?” Not a concept I am familiar with.

Yeah. Sorry for the misspelling. Not a word I use much. When the Mach-E First shipped, many dealerships got ONE to have available for test drives and to let people see them. They couldn’t sell them for 6 months. These were built the same time the First Edition pre-orders were. The dealership we purchased from had a Red “Mannequin car” and a grey that was ordered by a customer who didn’t take delivery. They were able to convert the grey one to their required hold time and sell us the red one because my wife really wanted Red.
