Hard pass on all things Elon. I’ll continue to avoid superchargers like the plague

They don’t share specific location data back, but it does share other information that could be used to initiate preconditioning. And Ford can provide a support hook for Apple‘s navigation to allow it to initiate. This is more getting the two development teams to figure it out and not really an issue of Apple not providing access.Apple doesn't play nice with others. They will not allow Ford access to integrate.
Yep, no supercharger info. We know that’s coming soon, we just don’t know when. It may not be specifically tied to iOS 18.4, or a specific release. I just wish they would fix the horrible CarPlay, specifically Apple Music, communication glitches.I don’t see anything different in the one that dropped today. Maybe next time.
That could be easily fixed if Ford would just add a button to manually start preconditioning. I don't understand why so many manufacturers force preconditioning to be tied to navigation. I love that button in the EV9.Having Tesla chargers in Apple Maps is helpful, but why can't we also get battery preconditioning?
If I had to bet, and I don’t, I’d put my 37 1/2¢ on this being a dispute about who gets to use the mined data. Which would be odd given that Ford sort of knows where the car is at any given time anyway.True, but it could be done by the car simply asking how far it is until the charge station, rather than specific location. Apple and the auto manufacturers need to get together to hammer out something that is acceptable to both and implement the feature. Oh, maybe that could create a new communication protocol. ??
Every EV owner in Hawaii, except those on Oahu, are with you on that.Hard pass on all things Elon. I’ll continue to avoid superchargers like the plague
thats a no from me dawg. not going to be an asshole just to give musk money when there are other and better options available ?Just take up two spots. It’s not our fault Tesla cords are too short.

I agree except in emergencythats a no from me dawg. not going to be an asshole just to give musk money when there are other and better options available ?
More likely just technical limits that are to be overcome someday but if there is blame to be assigned, I think that Ford is more likely not supporting this but. It’s an Apple issue. They supposedly have privacy concerns. Privacy concerns with sharing the phone’s location with the car. The car that the phone is in. That car.
If it was "technical limits" then explain how it is already possible with Android Auto. Are you saying that iOS can't do something that Android can?More likely just technical limits that are to be overcome someday but if there is blame to be assigned, I think that Ford is more likely not supporting this but.
Ford is asking for $80 a year to use their “Connected Built-in Navigation” for which I have no use (I never precondition and the voice interface on the built-in nav is so atrocious I give up in frustration while my spouse laughs at the tech).
I am just grateful for Apple making CarPlay improvements, I don’t really expect much from Ford anymore unless it involves a recurring revenue stream like nav or Blue Cruise.
The station closest to me, which went active about 6 months ago, shows Tesla can design stalls that allow Mach-E's to charge from the same side as Tesla EVs:Only helpful if it includes superchargers with cords long enough to park in one spot to charge lol. Their cords are so short!
All new installs are these V4 stalls. I just wish they would start installing V4 cabinets with them. The station closest to me, which went active about 6 months ago, shows Tesla can design stalls that allow Mach-E's to charge from the same side as Tesla EVs:

I tend to agree with what others here have said about privacy. Apple is unwilling to expose location data to an external device because it loses control over what is done with it. Android apparently isn't as paranoid. I prefer Apple's choice in the big picture sense and hope they and that car manufacturers can work out a way to satisfy all parties. A simple "destination is an EVSE, ETA is x minutes" message to the car might work, but in the meantime, Ford should just give us a button to self-trigger preconditioning. If it was "technical limits" then explain how it is already possible with Android Auto. This is exactly what I was saying. Tell the car how far out from the charger you are, then let the car decide how soon to start precon based on estimated time. No location needed. Not a hard work-around. There just needs to be some work done on both sides for it to happen. ?I tend to agree with what others here have said about privacy.
