Not so!
“Please Note: When planning a route that includes Tesla Superchargers, you may see a warning that the route requires your Fast Charging Adapter – make sure you have it with you”
That would be first base, and it will not let me get that far.
Do you already have a “vehicle” set up in Apple Maps? (Click on your profile pic in maps and look in settings). If so, try deleting and re-adding. If not, go to Apple map settings and add it. Once added, pick the Tesla network. It “should” be that simple.

Note: I believe I had to connect my phone to the Mach-e CarPlay initially to get the “vehicle” option to show up in Apple Maps - but not 100% sure of that.

p.s. I have 24 MME Premium and Apple iPhone 15 pro max, iOS 18.3.1.
My profile does not give me an option to select vehicle. That would be first base, and I cannot get there yet. I have been using CarPlay regularly without a hitch, but this feature I cannot access. iPhone 15 up to date IOS.

I think the car needs to be setup while connected to CarPlay, if you aren't already.

Ahh. That is really strange. I noticed after I deleted my current car in Maps that the vehicle tab was also missing from maps. But I then went to the car and connected the phone to CarPlay and the vehicle tab reappeared in maps.

If you haven’t already, you might try deleting your phone from the car and re-adding (I.e. start over with the setup). Could also try deleting Apple Maps and re-adding? Sry - I know this is grasping at straws - but it’s not always easy getting answers from Apple support …

The operative word is “you may”. Well let me tell you that you won’t. I just tried it several times using different settings and I didn’t. I don’t rely on a statement from Ford, I test it and see if it actually works.

Apple’s set up is inadequate. The software needs to allow users to pick a NACS plug and confirm they have an adapter. It’s not rocket science. If Elmo can do it, so can Cook.

100% agree. Perhaps it’s one of the things that will be fixed next month with iOS 18.4? Who knows! (Can anyone running the beta confirm if it’s any better)? I had the beta, but had to revert to 18.3.1 because the beta wouldn’t play nice with one of my critical apps.

Thanks very much. Also hard to get answers from Ford except the odd times when you get lucky and connect with someone who really knows something. I have been grasping at straws too and will try your suggestions.

My car seems to completely ignore the charger settings. I removed the current charging networks and then closed iMaps. I re-opened iMaps and selected Tesla supercharger. Set up a route from here to Las Vegas and you can see the results. There are lots of superchargers between here and Las Vegas yet it only suggested one out of the six stops

Np. This stuff can be pretty frustrating - especially when you know it works for others with seemingly the same hardware!

One more thing to add. In my Bluetooth settings I have 2 mach-es. One with a number before it, and another that I believe is the name I have for the vehicle in Ford setup. If uou click on the “i” after the “named” one you have some settings, including turning CarPlay on or off. You might try toggling CarPlay off and back on there to see if it forces the vehicle to be recognized in maps.

It appears for me both on the phone and on the car’s screen when I am selecting a route. Perhaps it could be more prominent, but it’s there. iOS 18.3.1 on iPhone 14 Pro.

Glad it does. It still doesn’t give me any warnings.

I just experienced the same but got it to appear and not sure what I did that made that happen, so here is the play by play :)

... I am in the car, car on, just about to leave work, music auto starts via apple music, getting ready to click 'home' on maps. Before doing so, thought I'd check to see if it works for me, so went to iPhone, Maps, and clicked on my face icon then settings and did not see the vehicle selection choice on iPhone (or car) (iPhone 14 w/ iOS 18.4 beta2) - but it was there weeks ago for me when first setup EV and Apple maps back in late January when Maps would keep prompting me in the car to connect the EV (think i was on iOS 18.3 at that time).

While still rocking out to the music in car, I went to CarPlay settings on phone (Settings - general - CarPlay) and saw the car there, I went to bluetooth and saw it wasn't connected. Thought, huh, shouldn't it be? Went to car connection settings - bluetooth to connect to phone but it said it would disconnect CarPlay from phone if i continued so i canceled.

I then set a route using maps in the car thinking settings may appear there (which there aren't any), then looked at phone and saw the turn by turn but couldn't access any settings. Of course, the already familiar icon on the instrument cluster was there with the flag and remaining mileage just above the SOC%. On phone I ended the route. Then still on iPhone, I went back to Maps but didn't even see my face icon on iPhone maps. Closed the maps app on phone, opened the Maps app on phone again, and saw my face icon now, went to the settings via my face and low and behold it (vehicles) was there as was the Mach-e which I setup back in late January ?‍♂ don't know... i added Tesla Superchargers and Electrify America while in there.

I now see on CarPlay the arrival SOC prediction which is new - but I didn't try a destination far away that would call for a Tesla stop... tomorrow perhaps.... wish they did what ABRP does and allows you to set the SOC minimum you want too (as well as the preconditioning) but one step better than it was.

I finally got it work after trying all the suggested solutions a number of times and really have no idea what made it work. Maybe just wore down its stubborn resistance. Now it is very cooperative, lets me choose which brands of chargers I want, shows them at the points along the route when my battery will need charging, shows current battery level. Really wonderful once you can stumble in to o getting it set up!

(now realizing this car requires 20-30 min stops every 1 - 2 hrs of drive time if taken on a road trip)
