Keep it simple use a memory stick in the USB port. I've been using that on both mach es for four years now with no issues. I have around 1200 songs on it but room for thousands more. The sync 4 system will give you a menu that lists by song artist genre etc.
I will definitely try this! Thanks for your advice!

I've been using a compact memory stick to keep my entire music collection in my car since Ford introduced Sync. I refuse to use streaming apps that pay artists fractions of a cent to use their music. Plus, I live and regularly travel through areas with very spotty cellular coverage. Having access to locally stored media guarantees that I'm constantly entertained

I use a USB thumb drive in my F-150 and my Mach E. They both have the B&O stereo, which is a pretty good system. I don't use MP3 format very much, though. Most of my tracks are either FLAC or WAV, to preserve the fidelity.

Of course I also remember singles. (45s), even a few 78’s, lots of 33’s vinyl , reel yo reel tape, 8 Track ( oh the horror) cassettes, CDs etc. some of those still have attributes. But MP3’s. Even this 70 year old streams music.
I had a Radio Shack branded turntable / AM/FM / 8-track stereo system that RECORDED 8-track tapes! I made a few...

I too remember all of those things. I don’t however own or use any of those today. Apple Music, Spotify, and Pandora are IT today.

I found that many parts of Michigan have spotty cellular and I've used Ipods for years in various vehicles which hold my very large library of music that was purchased on CD and then transferred to Ipod (lossless). Alas I could not get the old Ipods to mate with the Mach e. However, I put my collection on a high end Astell and Kern player which can capture very high res sound. It functions great and sounds great in the Mach e and I can leave the cell phone turned OFF which I love doing more and more as I dodge the invasive messaging, robo calls, emails and such. I also stream Radio Paradise when using CarPlay and in good cellular range. Yeah I'm one of those guys who demands the best sound possible even though I likely can't hear it fully at my age. :)

I don't know about the later models but, my 2021 Job-1 is terrible when it comes to the display. It constantly goes off to never-never land and does not keep track of where it is in the list of songs on the jump-drive. The only time it actually shows the correct song in the long list is if I sit in my garage when I start the car and wait for it to show the first song in the playlist (system generated). It will then move to the actual song playing about 50% of the time. If I scroll through the list and get it to the song being played it MAY stay on that song and MAYBE even move to the next song. But inevitably it then moves off to somewhere else in the list. It is very frustrating to look down to see what is coming up and see that it is nowhere near the song playing.

I've attached one of the videos showing what happens if anyone is interested. I have some others that I will try to find and maybe edit them down.

At 0:16 the player advances to the next song (Eleanor Rigby to Layla). A message pops-up about "For your safety..." and the list of songs no longer shows Layla but the list starts with Up On Cripple Creek through From Me to You. It then jumps to Showing Shut Up and Kiss Me while the song playing still shows Layla. At 0:30, I manually scroll through the list trying to find Layla and at 0:33 I find Layla and minimize the list. At 3:21 the song changes to Poor Mohammed and the "safety" pop-up is again displayed. The long list now shows Sheraton Gibson thru My Innocence. Note that Poor Mohammed is nowhere to be seen.

I tried to attach the file but it was too large. If anyone would like to see it I can e-mail it to them.

Sorry to rant but it is extremely annoying

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Same as windows phone.

I got hired to work on windows phone OS.
I got hired to work on adding USB support to Win 95, and I've stuck around ever since ;-)

Hi there! I just bought a 2024 Mach E on Tuesday night. So far, loooving it, and still trying to figure out tips and tricks...
I found out how to plug in a MP3 player and play music, but I noticed my player stays on after I turn off the car. Do you know if it is safe to keep the player plugged in over night? Will it drain the battery?
Sorry, I am aware this is a silly question. It is my first EV, and I overthink things...
Thanks for your help!
I recall Mach-Lee saying the plugs shut off after 30 minutes.
