When I read ”Superstalk gear shift”, I thought where can I get one! But then I read the article. If we put our collective heads together we can give it a better name. I’ll start, cluster shifter, cluster function , cluster fu…… I’m out of ideas. https://fordauthority.com/2025/04/2...t-pump-superstalk-gear-shift/#google_vignette
Marketers gonna market. They kinda fell down on the job with the "40% smaller frunk", tho - They should've come up with something like "lightweight performance frunk improves steering feel through 40% weight reduction!"

Yes, their motto is, we strive to make you feel good about something you’re really not going to like!

3-on-the-tree. The tech has been around since at least the 50s. A giant leap backward for Ford (not to mention a horrific User Experience downgrade).

Horrific? Why does a column shifter bother you? I always liked them ok. Even without a "superstalk"!

Is Donna talking about us when she says “built strong relationship with our customers”?

While I am not a fan of column mounted shifters, I also really do not like the rotary shifter. The superstalker is more or less a side-grade to me. I want an actual linear stick shifter that locks out Reverse when in Drive and Park when in Reverse. A simple button at the top of the knob can override the lockout but not allow the override to shift straight from Drive/Neutral into Park. This is tech that’s been around since the ‘60s, so it’s not like it’s that hard to implement. ??

Since getting a 2015 Ram 1500 with a rotary shifter, I’ve become a fan of the rotary dial. Especially when it’s position is where my hand rests naturally.

It’s an antiquated interface that occupies a lot of volume in the user space and is not very intuitive.

Yet they left the parking button there taking up a third of that "valuable real estate"?

The monostable column shifter works great, assuming it works like Tesla (who stole it from Mercedes). Especially for going quickly between D and R like a 3 point turn or parking. Don’t need to look or feel or count clicks of a dial. Don’t need to take your hands off the wheel. Just stick a finger out while holding the wheel and push it all the way up for R or down for D.

I don’t understand how one could say it’s taking up more space when it freed up extra storage space in the center console.
